Can I link two desktop computers together to combine their processing and graphics to make sort of one better machine?
No.
you can if you install gentoo
anything is possible with gentoo
You can't even take a proper screenshot, why the fuck would you be able to anything more complicated than turning on your tower?
define better

I'll look this up

Just took a quick picture of my monitor to use to catch the eye lmfao.
>>52241952
I just want to put the two towers toward running a game because neither have the requirements alone.

If you wanna catch people's eyes use a grill. Guaranteed replies.

This is me ignoring you

If you were ignoring me why did you reply? :^)

what you're asking can be done, but you can't do it you're too stupid, sorry
reminder to sage shit threads

Yes, but it definitely won't be faster.

Putting several networked computers to work on the same problem is possible, it's called a cluster.
>>I just want to put the two towers toward running a game because neither have the requirements alone.
You'll never run a game on it though. Why? One, a cluster depends on the ability to break the work up efficiently, send it over the network to other machines, and then recombine it when they're done. (which might happen at different times). This means latency (it takes time for this stuff to happen) which games can't tolerate, and you need to do the breaking-up of the work efficiently, which games can't. Two, and much more prosaically, no game supports it, due to the above complications.
if you want to run, say, a render farm, that would work. This on a very massive scale is how Pixar renders movies. But you'll never game on a cluster.

Yes. You need an OS that can be run distributed, though. I'd suggest Inferno.

Oh boy. How are you even able to breathe?
>>52241779
Is it possible? Yes
Are you personally capable? Probably not.
>>52241779
No.
Your technical level of expertise in the computer field is nill.
Therefore impossible.

One day, anon.
One day.
not really. if you're doing distrubuted rendering, then maybe, however nothing will give you an instantaneous more-responsive system that feels better, unless you are talking about avoiding swapping by using an NFS ramdisk...........
but yeah, no.

What is a Beowulf Cluster
