On desktop, main 1080p + secondary 720p is the bare minimum. Dual 1080p is a sweet spot for comfort and bang for buck. From there it's up to taste, some people like having three or four 1080p monitors, others might prefer two 1440p screens, others still a single ultrawide monitor.
On mobile, 1366x768 is cheap trash. 1600x900 is bearable. 1080p is standard. Anything better than that (eg. Apple's 2880x1600, the popular 3200x1800) is nice to have.
On a 4-inch phone, 720p is standard. 1080p is nice, but unnecessary. Anything higher than that is simply a joke.
