How the fuck do I get the mouse wheel to scroll in drawterm?
>>52235216

do you own a super computer homie ?
Lel fukken plan9 hipsters. Ironically most "true" plan9 turds insist mouse as an invention was cancer anyway
where to find Inferno programs?

In 9fs contrib there are a few.
Nice, a plan 9 thread

I have 2 old PCs running as a cpu and disk severs.
Usually I run a terminal from virtualbox but drawterm is way more comfy, the only thing is the lack of mouse scrolling.
Can I install it on bare metal? Can it be booted from grub? How does the partitioning work?
>>52236824
9front can boot from a lot of stuff but you can basically have terminals anywhere since drawterm has ports for windows, linux and osx. No grub as far as I know.
Partitioning is basically a small 9fat partition for boot up, storage can be set up in the same machine or a dedicated disk server, same with ramdisks.

>Can I install it on bare metal?
Plan 9: Probably impossible on modern hardware, it hasn't had an update in decades
9front though, absolutely. I've ran it bare metal on my laptop.

They also have the best meme propaganda in an OS.
Hell, their mascot is Cirno instead of Glenda.

>implying there's any reason to use 9front except for the maximum memeage
>>52235216
At least you apparetly got it instaled if you got that far. Iirc I ran the iso in a VM once but received a bunch of unintelligible Glenda errors and not much beyond that.

I don't understand this sentence, is this some plan9 thing? how can you have a CPU server? please explain.
>>52237707
Well in plan9 you have disk servers that store stuff in a snapshot manner(ie you can dump your files from year/s ago or from a few minutes ago if you fucked up).
Then there's cpu servers which provide processing power, since they are treated as files you can import them from terminals or from programs and use them.
Generally your environment is made of a cpu node a disk node a key board mouse monitor etc, but the thing is that you can make it however you want ie: you could import your living room cpu and do stuff on your room while saving to your disk server on the closet.

Other 9front anon, have you had any luck in connecting to 9fs 9front?
