How do you clean your screens? Do you use any specific product/water?
I normally don't use anything, only a clean tissue, but the screen doesn't get perfectly clean, any tips?

A slightly damp cloth is fine. Don't allow any excess water to creep under the bezel.

I use a water activated gel cleanser, then a honey almond body scrub, and on the face an exfoliating gel scrub. Then I apply an herb-mint facial mask which I leave on for 10 minutes while I prepare the rest of my routine.
>>
1. Wet a microfiber cloth

2. Wring out all the excess water so it becomes damp

3. Clean the screen

4. Get a DRY microfiber cloth and dry the screen

5. Profit

If it's a dirty spot, I usuallly scrape it off with fingernail. Otherwise, I use wipes.
>>
Isopropyl alcohol
>>
>>52213870
I usually use a bit of alcohol based glass/lens cleaner on a microfiber cloth.
Works wonders and doesn't leave ugly streaks.
>>
>>52213870
I still have jizz stains on my monitor from 5 years ago
>>
Taking it to shower with me.

for matte screens I use those damp tissues they sell

Don't use windex on coated CRTs... baaaad.
>>
>>52213870
I don't normally.
My screens are dusty and filthy as fuck and perhaps once a year I use some microfiber cleaning cloth to wipe them.

91% Isopropyl alcohol and microfiber cloths. I first dampen a cloth with the iso and smudge it all over the screen to pick up dirt and grease. Then I take a dry cloth and wipe away the residue left over. I repeat this 2-3 times. I use the same method for my phone too.

Small moist towel. Don't be autistic.

I use my shirt to wipe the dust, if there's something stuck I use a generic window cleaner

>work in a lab at college
>bring in my laptop everyday
>notice my screen looks like shit, normal usage stains and such
>look around, and remember we use acetone for nearly everything
>hmmm...
>start to apply acetone with lab-tissue
>notice it's fucking up my screen, stop halfway
>half my screen is fucked up
>had to buy a new fucking screen

don't use acetone, kids
>>
Half vinegar, half water solution.
Clean with a microfibre cloth.
>>
buy microfiber and various lint-free clths and special overpriced dilluted windex bottles.

use them for a week after receiving new displays.
after the 1st week. clean them with whatever (mostly fingers, but also including my own shirt) only when there's something obstructing on screen text.

You don't deserve to if you don't know what acetone does to plastics

You must be a janitor, but even they get safety training.

Use a microfiber cloth and wet it slightly with warm water. There's no lint so your screen will be perfectly clean. They're easy to find, usually in the contact lense/glasses aisle of a drug store. Hell, a couple random things I bought online came with a microfiber cloth.

Also they do get dirty after awhile, and are safe to throw into the washing machine.
>>
>>52213870
A cotton cloth and some water is all you need.
Don't even give a shit about microfibre.
>>
>>52213870
usually just a microfiber cloth and a little water. greasy fingerprints require a solvent, olive oil or mixture of 1 part of sugar and 3 parts of water.
>>
>>52213870

A dry brush, softly moved horizontally and vertically.

rubbing alcohol on cotton balls. works like a charm
>>
>>52213870
I always used iso alcohol on glossy monitors, now that I think of it I havent cleaned my thinkpad screen in 3 years. Is iso alcohol fine for it? Im scared of using anything but water since I damaged my 42' wega tv.

Rubbing alcohol eats away at the panel coating. Don't use it.
>>
>>52214981
>implying anyone on this board still uses CRTs
>>
>>52218761
alcohol is a million times better for cleaning electronic than fucking water. it dries quickly in the air and wont linger in cracks or inside the fucking thing if you happen to get some inside the device. just make sure the device is powered off completely, not just in sleep mode or whatever, and let it sit for a bit after cleaning and its perfect.
>>
>>52218806
Only if you fell for the matte screen meme. I've been wiping down my glossy laptop screen with 91% iso for years, it still looks good as new.
>>
>>52218866
You don't even have to power off your device if you use 91% iso or higher. I once accidentally spilled a bottle of it on my phone by accident and nothing happened.

I have a 27 inc 32inch and 70 inch screens, all of these things cost me a lot of cash. I wouldn't want to fuck up the screens. None are glass, all anti-glare etc.

I use dry micro fiber, glasses lens cleaner from walmart, spray a few times on dry cloth. ( I shake cloth a few times before spraying to shake any loose shit if any... ) Spray till just damp. Wipe with sprayed side, dry with other side. All dries streak free, clear and quick. Dust, Smudges gone. Do it every 2 weeks. No issues. No hard senpai.
>>
Definitely Windex or similar glass cleaner.

Alcohol takes five times the effort and leaves streaks.
