What I'm trying to tell you is that an average person would give it a rating of 3-3.5/5 on subjective testing, which is well above 'watchable', and if you analyze it closely there is insignificant detail loss when considering we save half the bitrate.

The x265 video bitrate for 1080p should be ~3000kbps, but I'm demonstrating that even when that quality is halved, it still looks damn good at 1080p. For a 4/5 on subjective testing, you would need ~3000kbps which is the 'sweet spot' compromise between increased quality and diminishing returns.

I used CRF22 for x264 which is already quite low. I encoded at 1536x864, not 1080p as you try to suggest. CRF ~18 would be optimal, but keep in mind that I used CRF 21.5 for the x265 encode also.

If you go back and read my first post that started this, you'll see I said I wanted to encode files that are 5GB+ in size down to 200-900MB in size.
For a 2-hour file sized 900MB, this would mean a video bitrate of 964kbit/s. So clearly my intention is not to encode at what you consider 'good bitrates'.
But I will add this: The sample encode I posted had a bitrate of 1769kbit/s. This would make a 2-hour video with 36kbit/s audio have a size of 1.59GB. This, as shown by my screenshots, is pretty much equivalent to a 3.2GB x264 video - double or triple the size of the infamous 'YIFY' encode. Only a fool would say that's not 'good' quality.

Setting up autodl to grab the torrent the moment it's released and trying to send more upload to everyone else that's doing the same than everyone else that's doing the same. With really good boxes you can get 8 even 12 ratio during its initial seed this way. Feral won't ever do extremely well because it's a shared box on a network with huge overhead. Dedis are where it's at for racing.
But for everything else Feral is honestly fine. Yes dedis will still do better at general seeding but not as significantly as with racing.
