A fuse designed to be easily replaceable. Got a couple of these in my guitar amp.

If amperage gets too high through a circuit for whatever reason, high draw, faulty things upstream, lightning, whatever, it will melt the connection and "pop" as the oxygen inside burns.

It breaks the connection when current gets too high for other things to handle, so it doesnt break your shit.

Example, plug a string of christmas lights into anything higher than a 120v socket, watch the fuse in the plug pop almost instantly.

Then replace the fuse with some wire, packed tinfoit, etc and plug it in again. All the lights will burn out.
