I got this set up and I am going to miss it because I'm switching to windows 10.
This set up was the most comfortable I had ever gotten. I can launch programmes quickly, I had tons of keyboard shortcuts, etc... But I'm making the switch to windows now, because after a year with arch only, I realised something; developers are never going to support Linux.
Seriously, all the adobe products are not available, paint.net is not available, half of my library on steam is non available, even through wine! I did get fl studio running well, but I couldn't use ASIO and the latency from my MIDI keyboard is unbearable, not to mention half of my plugins were also unavailable.
While I will certainly miss GNOME 3, and my work flow will be severely demolished, I have to make the switch, there is just no other option.
Honestly, I would've stayed on arch if valve had kept their promise and made Linux games actually good. The ports of games to Linux are shit, as all the developers are doing is running Direct X through Wine. Its depressing how little they give a fuck about the end user. In a world where people don't live up to their promises, you have to adapt.

I always used XP back then. When I heard of Ubuntu about 6 years ago I made my pc dual boot xp and ubuntu and it was really good. When I changed to a new system it was windows 8 and i fucking loved it, changed to 8.1 bc of support. I didnt understand why the little shits were crying about MUH START MENU ICON HOW DO I FB NOW and frankly I didnt care. Now I work at an IT store and my whole day consists of installing demos on ubuntu laptops and manhandling the shit out of win10 laptops. It fucking terrible to use that shit. When I heard that this "design" actually won awards I almost choked on laughter then I realized that some retards actually find this good.

It's hard enough getting games developed on PC at all, let alone Linux. Linux users are such a small subset of PC users that it would be ridiculous to invest any money at all in doing a Linux port. The only reason we've gotten the Linux ports we have is because Valve is convincing devs that SteamOS/Steam Boxes are going to be a hit. When it becomes obvious that it's a failure, nobody will be doing anymore Linux ports.
When any retard can make millions from a Temple Run clone on iOS, while devs are barely breaking even on their Linux ports, it becomes obvious that Linux ports are a waste of money.
