Well I don't actually leave the house every day, but I go to flea markets, thrift stores, antique stores, etc. and the tape measure is very handy for measuring items/furniture I might be interested in. The flashlight is also very useful for searching in dark places and inspecting items.
What grinds my gears is when people tell me they bring a think pad with them as an EDC. You're a true autist if you bring your think pad to get gas.

AKG Q460. AKG made equivalent headphones without the Quincy Jones branding that cost a bit less, so you should pick those if you're not as obsessed with the color green as I am.
Those headphones emphasize the bass more than studio-quality products. For me, that's okay because on the go there is enough background noise so the perfect listening experience doesn't have the highest priority.

I'm not really all that hipster, and as the years go by I become more lazy about trying to get vintage/antique stuff and repair/maintain it all. If anything I make it a goal to buy stuff of high quality and/or made in USA more than I do to buy old stuff, it's just that in a lot of cases the two go hand in hand.
