If you need to 'save up' for something. You can't afford it.
Get a savings account and spend your money better.

A savings account should only be used to contain one years worth of emergency funds. Everything else should be in diversified investments.

POO IN THE LOO PAJEET
Not me, I'm saving up (read: making sure i dont need the money elsewhere) for the sensible T420 that I can get for $300 on eBay. Faggot.

If you're making $4800 a year, you have much worse things to worry about than buying a Macbook. I don't even recommend that sort of stuff to people making 10x that. Hell with that sort of financial worth, I wouldn't even recommend a used Thinkpad. I would say just deal with your netbook if you can afford the electricity to charge it.
Also, the average in your area is $400 a month and Apple opened a store there? Top kek.
You have much worse to worry about. So pick yourself up, and start saving your cash for when you actually need something.

That's sort of what I meant to imply. But I guess it didn't come off that way.
I was always told to put money in the following order:
1. Minimum payments - They can't take away your stuff if you keep paying them.
2. Emergency funds - Between 6-12 months worth. Should be quick to liquidate.
3. As much savings that will be matched by government/employer - Free money if I put it into my 401k? Hell yes.
4. Debt - From highest interest to lowest.
5. Investments - Diversified into different areas.

Keyboard is like repeatedly jamming fingers into a sheet of aluminum 0/10. Nice laptop otherwise.
