Its 25 pounds cheaper than other 970 on offer and there is a r9 390 at offer but still costs 20 pounds more.
I have i5 650 3.2 ghz and 1440x900 monitor,i plan on either changing or/and getting a new PC in a year.

R9 390 for sure. It gets as good if not better performance for games than Geforce cards when you disable Nvidia proprietary tech, which is going to be passe in gaming due to AMD pushing it's new free open tech. Companies will adopt it because of it works on both brands.
