No idea how to increase accuracy. But I honestly have no idea how I type at that speed. Years of rts gaymem, I assumed helped me so just find what works for you.
142 on QWERTY, one of the fastest on the format. I don't bother with dvorak because I don't use the home row anyways.
I can hit 115 but it's just a lot of fuckups when I go that fast, 104 is a pretty relaxed pace for me to minimize fuckups..

149wpm is my best score ever. I wish there was a decent way of knowing my average speed, as sharing my super specific top score sounds incredibly autistic.
I imagine my average is mid 130s, maybe lower 140s on a good day. I usually can't even get near my best score. I also don't type 'properly' so I get some fatigue in my left wrist. (mostly a left-handed typist)

If you type under 60wpm, stop looking at the keyboard. If you type over 60wpm and don't look at the keyboard, it's just practice from there.

Yeah, pretty much. Mechanical keyboards, or better desk/chair combinations can help with comfort, but that will only affect your speed so much. It all comes down to practice. If you're uncomfortable practicing, though, then maybe improving your equipment or ergonomics would be worth it.
Also, specifically take more typing tests. Just typing more will probably help, but wanting to get faster and actually testing regularly helped me improve a ton.

Yeah, as I typed my post I started thinking about swiftkey for Android. It's always sort of recording statistics on what you're typing and is able to tell you how much it's corrected you after learning some stuff about how you type.
This is definitely the type of thing that you'd want to be free software, and to be very transparent about what it looks at and that the info isn't shared anywhere, but if that's all fulfilled I would be okay with letting some sort of daemon run that examines what I type.
I'll try on my Microsoft Multimedia keyboard 1.0A and Ducky Year of the Goat (MX Brown) and prove that mechanical keyboards are not a meme, even for non typists.

It can definitely be argued that it doesn't help programming due to typing various weird symbols as well as having to think of what you're typing which will take a while, but I think for chatting on the web like this it's very handy to type quickly.

This is gonna sound stupid, but have you tried just moving your fingers faster? Perhaps you're used to typing slow. Do you have arthritis or anything that would make quick finger movements difficult or painful?

If that's what's holding you back, then this is probably an easy fix. Mistakes are fine and normal. During these tests you shouldn't try to correct all your mistakes. Also keep in mind that mistakes deduct from your score anyway. Take a test and just go wild and tell us what you get.
