HALP
i took apart my 15" macbook pro because of a coffee spill and subsequently learned how computers work and cleaned my motherboard very carefully w/ rubbing alcohol.
>I DID NOT DO THIS RIGHT.
i forgot what screws go where and can't find a single useful manual online to help me. i'm having more problems with apple erryday (i say as i type this from my new ipad)

i've heard that it's "bad" to run the computer without all the screws in? and now i'm afraid to use it until i learn how to hold the fan and motherboard n stuff down?

>TLDR; where do i find a manual that would help me b/c i wanna use my keyboard
>15" macbook pro (2011 model?)
>fuck screws
>>
but thats a 13"

theyre all like the same screw anyway, if it fits then it's fine. just try to put them in any spaces. as long as everything is held in, its completely fine to use it

You're supposed to buy a new one now you fucking poorfag.

oops, 13" 15" w/e. i never really notice the little 2". some are tri-tipped screws n some are hex screws though. should i worry at all? or just ignore it
>>
also as OP i would like to note that apple is a genius just for their unibody casing. i've dropped my laptop down at least three flights of stairs and it still works fine, more or less. (i even tripped n dropped my motherboard outside of my laptop. this thing's a monster)

Hi, Apple Tech here.

I know the MBP 13" screw layouts fairly well and can confirm there should be 4 T6 screws of one type and 2 slightly longer T6 screws in the Logic Board.

The wide/thin crosshead or phillips screws should only be in the optical drive.

I see both trilobe screws are missing from the battery.

An apple tech will ask about these missing screws when they notice this.

Here is a diagram you should not have access to. Odd numbers are part numbers and the sizings relate to length of the screw.

Only good news is there are no cases against your machine serial number and no news for your accident.

Yes your serial number is quite clear. US MBP from Best Buy. I won't say no more.

Apple are very touchy about any guide about their machines. They probably block access to accurately made ones and it is very likely they do.

Good luck with getting your screws right.

>>52160828
My picture is for inside the machine and not the bottom.

The bottom plate only uses three different screws. 3 long screws at the rear, 3 non-shoulder screws on sides and rear corner and 4 shouldered screws for the front.

I did not design the machine nor do I compliment it. MBP 13 Retina Mid 2012/ Early 2013 are a nightmare to work with in relation to screws.

Simple explanation is Apple don't like customers playing around with their hardware.

They especially hate modifications in the Retina MBP and iMacs. Older MBP from 2012 and before (non-Retina or Ultrabook) is just about acceptable in most cases for only HDD/SSD and RAM.

This. It's their way of saying, "If you don't know what the fuck you're doing don't bother, because you're probably going to fuck it up."

And holy shit, people do. So many horror stories of what people did to their laptops because they could disassemble it with nothing but a philips screwdriver thinking thinking that they could fix it.

That is true and I wouldn't disagree at all. The main issue I find in my job is which is the worst kind of gore.

Hardware gore caused by the general point of the statement from your post or I clear a power issue by reseating the battery connector to the Logic Board only to find this the issue was caused by many tabs of gay porn being open on poor Safari...

I have not seen kiddy porn so all good so far I suppose.
