it's called 4chan addiction, anon.

we'd rather post here than play games.

i played a few hours of the witcher 3 last week and while i enjoyed it, i enjoy the internet just about equally.

i guess if you have enough time to play games everyday you could get bored. i get a few hours a week because i'm not a NEET.

once i spend a couple hours online catching up with the real online world, then i'm ready to play games. sadly by that point i'm already lacking in sleep and have to get enough hours to function at work.

I did exactly this back in July. Went doctors not too long ago and was diagnosed with severe depression. I refused to take the meds because I've had them before and got hooked.
My treatment is to go climbing, swimming or MTB at least once a week.
You've got to want to help yourself senpai.
I now like computer games.
Also get rid of every single social media account you have. They don't help people feel good about their own lives.

You know my feels so well.
I can't speak for your work, but mine is very clear on the stuff I have to do that day, it gives me a sense of purpose and direction.

> All my old friends are working either internships or dead end jobs and still go out and party and do stupid shit.
I pretty much lost all my friends once I finished HS.
You all go your own ways, that glue (school) that kept you together is just not there anymore.
You might try to do something once in a while but you find it more and more difficult to actually get anything going
You run into old friends, you exchange banter and it ends with "we should do something sometime" and nothing ever happens.

I feel like I should have made friends at work, the new social glue, but I'm stuck in a weird spot, people are too young or too old for me.
I'm too cynical to give a shit about *your* family and all that weekend bullshit nieces birthday garbage you did, I'm too old to hangout/relate that well to the younger employees.

I do have a nice loving gf, but she fills a different part of me, I still feel lonely from the lack of friends.
I'm jealousy that she is so well liked and has so many friends.
Maybe I'm just too much of an asshole personality for people to handle, some people weren't cutout for this.

>new years comes
>she gets lots of messages/text
>I get one from my mom
>>
>>52167736
Know that feel ohh so well.

27 yr old, dropped out of college, no friends, shitty security job, no qt gf, live with home (shes disabled).

Women my age already have 9-10 yr old kids, married, etc. Single ones are all fucking insane and dating younger girls is like dealing with kids. Going out just sucks now and feeling that generation gap sucks. Can't bring grills over cause mom is fucking crazy and I'm too cheap to blown money on hotels.

No joy in movies, games, or anything really. Every day is mediocre at best. On antidepressants but they just keep me from blowing my brains out.

Only thing that keeps me going is gym and modding my S2000.

Last year I broke up with my gf who didn't appreciate me. In December I met a girl who pulled me out of my depressed world and forced me back into outside life. I haven't felt anything real except sadness since about Junior year in high school.

I recently got out of a relationship too. It was too one sided. I put forth too much effort and it felt like she didn't care. I think we were just at different points in our lives and where we wanted to be.

I have about 50 games in my steam library but I actually only play smite too really. That way it feels like some sort of social interaction. I have one or two online friends I've known from my runescape/teenage days I'll play it with too.

When I play other games I get bored and they feel empty because theres no social interaction. So all I really play is smite and I could be doing that on a machine thats 1/4 the price of what I built

>>52176112
Being able to play games at max res, 60+ fps and all settings cranked up is kind of incentive in its own way.
I'm stuck with a shitty PC right now and many AAA titles from even years ago I can't play without making it look like a cartoon, which I refuse to do.
When I do end up assembling a custom rig I'll have a lot of catching up to do, but for now I mostly run emulators and play indishit, which even that is starting to take a toll on hardware - I can't run Transistor or Strider at all.

That's the white one right? Mine is NA '95, I had an interest in S130 and Z31 for years because of the 80's shape but got a good deal and the Z32 is comfy for mid 90's.

Recently I've stopped gaming with KB+M hunched over my monitor, and instead I spin the monitor around so it faces my bed, lie back on it and play with a gamepad. So much more relaxing, and the thing I like most is that it gives a clear cut between "gaming time" and "anything else time" on the computer.

Before, I felt temptation to alt+tab out every so often and check things; but now that I have to deliberately put away the keyboard and mouse and spin the screen round, that's stopped.

The point is, if you want to try a more console-y experience when playing on your PC, you don't actually need to bring it to the living room and get a fuckhuge TV. Just get a gamepad and give it a try wherever you normally use your PC.

I do have to limit myself to games with full controller support and which don't have stupidly small subtitles. I'm considering getting a larger monitor (23" isn't perfect for couch mode play.)

I'm glad I'm bringing my Surface Pro 4 with me to uni (transfer student). I guess the only other apps where I'd actualy need my GTX580 would be with Maya/3DSMax/XSI and Unreal Engine 4, I'll just focus gitting good at concept art/drawing cute girls.

Even if it's something I'd expect to like and on sale at a really good price, I don't buy a game unless I'm actually excited to play it ASAP (meaning immediately after download, or evening on the same day).

My Steam library is small, but the average quality of the games (meaning subjective quality, IE whether I personally like them) is very high.

then you should just buy mid-tier cpu and gpu, you wont be playing on the best settings but at least you can walk away from it and feel okay.

if you spent 1000+ you almost need to sit there and trudge through games because you need to validate your spent money

I know the feel, anon. Building my PC was the fun part. Once I had got done, I was so happy, I felt like I had finally done something useful. But, like that other anon said about beating The Witcher, its like that feeling of disgust after you cum in sex. Its just not fun when you're finally done with it. There have been whole days that I just stare blankly at my computer screen trying to think of something to occupy myself.

To everyone who is here on this board because they built a video game rig and they come here to feel like they are smart for watching newegg videos, please either read the wiki that is sticky noted or leave. Your contribution level is nill and most of the posts just revolve around making yourself feel better.

Picture this right?

You're out in the city for some god known reason, like you've actually left your cage. You've heard about this club that's supposed to be super popular and it has been heralded as the benchmark of the nightclubbing experience but your mates are super tight-lipped about what this club is all about, they just insist that it's great.

So you figure "what the fuck right?". You whip out your riced android and type the club name into Google and you're on your way to this club. On the way you kinda muse to yourself that back in the day when your friends first told you about this club you wouldn't have even had a GPS on your shitty phone to find it anyway. So you get to the club, and after paying the $20/mth entry fee (it's super exclusive club remember) to the door, you walk around into the dimly lit area, trying to make out names and faces of people you might be able to connect with. It's kinda weird though... Something doesn't feel right.

People are dressed funny, there's a squad of 50 asian dudes walking back and forth performing some task. Some of those asian dudes deviate from the pattern and hand out the club currency to people (mostly dudes) who are either dressed in super-manly armor or role playing as some kind of mage or even a chic. The real chics are sitting in booths with 5-10 dudes hovering around them at any one time trying to win affections. One of these girls catches your eye. She gets up and grabs you by the hand and takes you to the bathrooms. "No condom", she whispers into your ear. You don't need to take a second thought about this as you ram your 4 inch man rod into her vagina, all you can think of is that this club is living up to the hype.

Post coitus, you're not in the mood for much so you go home, flop down on your bed and sleep. You wake up the next morning and your dick burns, so you call a doctor. You've got herpes and the clap. But you don't care. You're going to the club again, hopefully you'll get HIV.
