Well, there was [1], which _might_ be a sort of NSA backdoor/purposeful weakening of cryptography (specifically, Debian's distribution of OpenSSL). I'm not aware of anything else that might qualify as NSA hacking the Debian project.

I don't get this, why? Because he created a popular distro twenty years ago that likely even the NSA uses on their own hardware? Murdock is hardly a figure I would choose to "assassinate" in this way, especially considering there's figures like Stallman which would be a way more influential and believable target for this kind of incident.
