>>

Not him but that picture seriously misses the mark on travel between Europe and the US.
>>
>>52145563
I traveled from NYC to Rome in early march (off season) and it still cost me $800 even with layovers and coach.
>>
>>52145544
Why wouldn't I travel and buy an iPhone?

Fucking poorfags
>>
>>52145600
it's accurate if:
you went from texas to mexico
or NY to UK
or stayed on the same coastline for either location in the third example
again, only if off season
>>

i dont get this meme, traveling sucks

This retarded meme needs to come to Australia and preach it's bullshit.

Nothing is that cheap.
>>
>>52145593
Went to LA for the first time in march from Britbongistan and I loved it there. Sunny, warm weather (not sickly hot) and people were nice enough.

Bottom line 10/10 would go to California again
>>

>>

What's so bad about living there. To me it feels like living there would be a mixture of stress and relaxation but more emphasis on relaxation. Not to mention I love the weather. Would give my left ball just to live there. I'm sick of this place (yurop).
>>
Oil prices are off 60% from there highs also in America Air line unions have made concessions on pensions and healthcare benefits. Fuel and labor are a airline's biggest cost and both have gone down so I guess they're reducing ticket prices.

No joke, I purchased a flight from NYC to SFC round trip yesterday for $213.
>>
>>52145629
I've been looking at off season tickets, London to the US or Dublin to the US. Those tickets are eight hundred *euros* starting. Now, I know you guys don't include sales tax in your price but I really doubt it's THAT big of a difference.
>>
>>52145734
She never said air travel was involved. Kayaking to Europe is a bargain and a half senpai.

You can go to those places for those prices via freighter. Think of it as a cheap cruise!

What do people do when they travel? not spend any money because after you pay $600 for the plane ride, you have nothing left for the actual trip.

Instead of flying somewhere to take a bunch of picture trying to claim you actually did something, you could just go and enjoy life locally.

Woah, mexican here, 450 for a round trip to Mexico? wtf airline so cheap. I need to pay at minimum 120 dollars from Monterrey to Sonora, now USA to central Mexico at least should be 300 dollars.
>>
>round trip flights to places
>not including housing
>you can't just transfer the money you're paying on your current home to a hotel/airbnb/whatever at any random destination
>you can't necessarily just crash on literally any person's couch anywhere in the world

to say nothing of
>a smartphone you enjoy using will get used throughout the entire day for the better part of 2 to 3 years
>a trip to some place will tangibly only last as long as you can afford to be there, and after that everything will be a condensed set of memories

i'm not saying the point is complete bullshit, but thinking about it like a dichotomy between getting a smartphone and going to europe is profoundly stupid. start small: go outside tomorrow morning and go on a hike. most people don't even do that. when all the good free shit near you is exhausted, then start quibbling about whether to buy a hoverboard or inexplicably fly to california.
>>
>>52149287

>>52149639
>You bitches
All you've got are memories, not something everyone cares about.

A close friend of mine saves up as money as she can during the year and goes where she can afford with it. She barely owns anything to her name but holidays for 2 months a year, every year.

I spend the same amount of money on PC gear, motorbikes and car upgrades because I feel it's a more worthwhile expenditure, not on flying in a plane, seeing the same old ground with a different accent.

Strokes for folks, etc.
>>
>>52149330
i know. it's mind-boggling. i went to a university in southern california - LA was a "short" drive away, beautiful state parks a few hours away, etc... - and people who *can't* have explored all these places would pine for other places that they could blow thousands to go visit.

I'm not saying i take complete advantage of everything either, but i know college students who took loans flying off to Asia, trying to exploit all sorts of clever loopholes to gain airline status, etc... so that when they spend more money they don't have they can get something like first class or whatever heading to a place they don't have money for in the first place.

it makes me wonder if there's going to be a catastrophic financial meltdown when all these people turn 30 and start sorting out their debt and realizing they were thousands of dollars in debt and in response just spent their 20s going deeper.

I don't see much point in spending thousands to leave NZ when everyone else says it's one of the best holiday destinations.

There's tons to do here, a lot of culture, and if you simply want to chillax with a random stranger and smoke weed, just go to Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley and sit with a random group and smoke. However, the rent is expensive, the rich are snobby as fuck, and overall, while it has a lot of good things, it's mostly an attraction to tourists.

From here to London, the cheapest round trip flight I've seen is around $800, taxes included, and it's typically $900-1100 on budget airlines during the off season. That's in CAD, which is weak right now, but that's just airfare.
