Another fun way to hack into a computer and delete all its files is to use a hammer and smash apart the hard drive. "Hacking" into a computer with physical access to it isn't that hard. You essentially "hack" your own computer when you install an operating system by this logic

First of all if a malicious user has physical access to the system you already lost. This bug doesn't log you into a Linux PC it just bypasses a GRUB password (which most people don't use if they choose to use GRUB over the multiple other bootloader options). It's easy to bypass a GRUB password just by booting from a LiveCD/LiveUSB.
If you want actual security you would use full disk encryption which really wouldn't even prevent a malicious user with physical access because hardware keyloggers are cheap and easy to get.
