I tried modifying my p4 3ghz prescott case to meet my needs over temps and i ended up with the perfect space heater, see pic related.
In the other hand it doesn't run too slow yet, i still have it up to date in case my laptop gives up, and after some ram addition, the last agp gpu available i got second hand, a main Sata hdd and some overclocking it still can run heavy software relatively fast.
I had a overclocked pentium 805D on a shitty thermaltake watercooling kit with like 1/4" tubing back in the day

Willamettes in the 1.7-2 GHz range weren't too awful, they showed a noticeable improvement over Coppermine by then and I believe their floating point and SSE performance especially was pretty damn good.
But that's probably my S423 fetish talking.
The CPU in my old work PC is a P4 2Ghz w/HT. Used that system for way longer than I should have, given that I did some heavy processing on it; only slowed down, never outright locked up or crashed.
