msi, asrock, amd, razer, "gaming"

Why should I avoid AMD?

Sapphire, or basically any shitty brand you have never heard of. Also stay away from shit razer stuff
>>

This

no drivers, shitty cpu performance, high housefire-tier TDP

RAZER

asrock is fine.

Ecs, seagate, evga, palit, inno3d, powercolor

Don't believe most of these OP it's mostly circumstancial and 2016 is not 2013.

If you want paper thin Motherboards. Unless they have changed over the years. Only retarded gamers who don't know any better circlejerk AsRock because of their color schemes.

Also Corsair anything. It's the go to PC part brand of the same people that buy Razer everything for peripherals.
>>
>>52132043
They're all fine
>>
>>52132350
Corsair PSU are fine (at least some of them)
>>
>>52132306

lel I bought an ECS motherboard once to save some money on my gaming rig

little did i know that it would
work perfectly
>>
>>52132350
I got AsRock because it matched the color scheme I was going for. I don't really have any complaints so far. I mean, it's just a mobo right?
>>
>>52132350
I got a Z97 Pro4 for $85, the pcb didn't flinch when I uses a hammer to install the Corsair ram.
>>
>>52132043
Asrock and amd, only use amd for low end builds or if you like the brand. I highly recommend intel, reliability and power. Amd gpus however are good and i'd recommend
>>
>>52132472
And when I uses the hammer I says to myself "fucking ram fuck you get in." It capisce.
>>
>>52132207

what the fuck LOL sapphire makes some of the best radeon video card coolers, and considering the 380 and 390 BTFO out of competition for anyone that isn't willing to pay extra money to be an NVidia cuck (and pretend you wanna use hairworks) you got it all wrong
>>
Corsair ram is fine better than off brand it overclocks nicely. And sapphire GPUs are decent quality will take the heat. Stay away from MSI and Asrock.
>>
Radeon XFX 7850 2gb gpu and Intel i5 processor user here

Seem really underperformed to their advertised specs, getting blue screens on max settings for 'blockbuster' games such as far cry.

seagate
>>
Maxwell - even shittier than realtek
>>
>>52132043
* Seagate - no matter how you view them, their products, hard drives, are the worst and the most unreliable hdds one can find on this planet.
* Chieftec and under $60 PSUs. You do not want to build your home on sand, nor your PC on a bomb-class PSU that can burn your house just to save few shekels.

PSU unquestionably your PC's most important part, no matter kids here fill their shopping carts with the cheapest shite they can find period
* AsRock-motherboards, cheap, even well featured once a while but cheap build quality. If you plan to use your rig longer than year or two, and value your other components, pick another one.

And always find reviews, read the reviews, forums, from multiple sources, good and bad till you've searched internet through and through, there's always bad models, even from good brands.
>>
>>52132043
I'll tell you what brand you should stay away from when building a computer.

4chan.

because every circle-jerking hipster that is entitled to their opinion in this thread is going to ultimately lead to a bad decision on your part, OP. Just Google the specs and fuck off.
>>
>>52133235
This, no matter what you pick some faggot is going to sperg out about it.
>>
Every brand is going to show up at least once in this thread, nothing can please these neckbeards
>>

Corsair PSUs are fine

At least RMi HXI and AXi

RM (without the I) is a shit tho

And basically HXI and AXI are good but overpriced, so yeah, it's really just RMi

And if you're in burger land you might as well get an EVGA psu because they're the same quality at a lower price

But I'm a eurocuck so I can't get EVGA PSUs other than some imports which cost twice as much as the corsair one
>>
>>52132526
My sapphire Hd7870 shit the bed after 6 months only, so did my previous XFX 6950

Since then I have a 7970 from gigabyte, which is loud as fuck (and not even fan humming but also some rattling, no coil whine though), is like 50C in idle, but has been going strong since 3 years

So basically I'm out of ideas for brands for my next GPU, they're all shit. Maybe MSI or maybe I'll switch to the green team and see if the grass is really greener on their side
Although gigabyte at least keeps their cards working...
>>
>>52134430
what's wrong with RM? what about RMx?
>>
>>52134461

MSI's ones are very good. Their R9 390 is pretty quiet and runs cool.
>>
>>52134601
Lots of people complain about them dying or coil whining and shit.

The RMis are basically the same price but improved and don't break or make noises. Just Look up jonnyguru

As for RMx, I think they're more or less the same than RMi just don't have corsair link (useless anyway), and have a lower quality fan (might matter but most of the time it's not gonna spin anyway)
>>
>>52132385
Their low end is pretty shit and better alternatives exist for the price Their high-end is great, but very expensive.

>>52134601
Chink shit caps.

Amd, asrock, amd, seagate, asrock, thermaltake (don't support assholes senpaitachi), seagate, amd, asrock, seagate and asus, I almost forgot about asus.
>>

Dell or HP can probably make a better PC than you can
>>
>>52132136
Snobbery, AMD is perfectly fine for a budget build. More bang for the buck on the lower end.
>>
>>52135047

>>
>>52133289
I was going to buy one of WD external hard drives for an upcoming deployment. What other hard drives should I look at then
>>
>>52135359

Different user here. I would buy an external drive case, and an internal drive. Then put them together. Don't buy those all in one external drives, you can't open them and troubleshoot in case something goes wrong.
>>
>>52133381
hahahahahahaaahahahahahhhahahhahaahh you're so fucking funny
>>
>>52132306

Evga is okay if you have a refrigerator for a computer to make up for their shitty fans.
>>
>>52133289

>Toshiba

Avoid their HDDs like the plague.
>>
>>52132043

Muskin and any cheap PSU.

You can't go wrong with most other components.
>>
>>52135612

Toshiba's external hard drives are one of the best out there. I've been using two Toshiba 1 TB external drives for over 3 years with no problems.
With no WD blinking lights
>>
>>52133289
Is Kingston really that bad?
>>
>>52136059
no
>>
Avoid corsair coolermaster thermaltake raidmax gigavyte psu
Avoid ocz ssd
Avoid gskill rams
>>

Toshiba is worse than Seagate now.

Intel, AMD, Nvidia, American Megatrends, and Apple

ITT: Avoid brand/manufacturer X I don't like!
>>
>>52132136
Because /g/ nowadays is full of edgy /v/ teenagers who know little to none about hardware and just shitpost up the next meme they can get.

AMD GPUs are fine, their CPUs, on the other hand, aren't that great currently.
>>
>>52132350
>Also Corsair anything. It's the go to PC part brand of the same people that buy Razer everything for peripherals.

Corsair RAM is top tier. Their cases are very decent and almost always good value for money. PSUs are hit and miss depending on the series.
>>
I regret buying an XFX psu
Thick and short cables, the fan started rattling 3,5 years in and the support wants to fuck me over with their rma

I'm not gonna wait 1 month for a replacement unit
>>
CPU: Intel
MOBO: ASUS
RAM: Corsair
GPU: AMD/Gigabyte
SSD: Samsung
HDD: Western Digital
CASE: Fractal
PSU: Cooler Master

How far did I knock it out of the park?

PSU is the only questionable one, but it's gold rated, has all Japanese capacitors and reviewed very well.

>MOBO: ASUS
Ok if you use Windows.
Expect customer support to hang up on you if you ever have problems with any other OS.

>GPU: AMD/Gigabyte
As long as it's for gaming only.
If you intend to use it for anything else, get NVidia.

>HDD: Western Digital
Mediocre.
Swap for HGST if you can.

>PSU: Cooler Master
Shit, get Corsair.

Everything else is ok.
>>
>>52136730
>cooler master
>entire lineup is shit

When will this meme finally die? Cooler Master's GX series is actually pretty damn good.

Research the OEM, not the company.
