Can someone tell me why the fuck Ruby has no majority agreed upon IDE/text editor. Why the fuck do I have to break my back installing a bunch of random fucking shit just to be able to learn this retarded language?
>>52131509
because nobody uses ruby
why would you use ruby when python exists?
JetBrains has RubyMine, I can't see your point.
If this topic was on Lua (or some other lang that's great, but has small support) I would understand.

Obviously for Rails. Everyone uses ruby for rails. Rails is better than Django in almost every way and same holds true when comparing sinatra to pyramid
Sublime is good for it. Don't blame the language
just because of the editors. I coded ruby for 2 years
until a millennial bite me and now I code in Javascript.
vim?
almost everyone uses vim

I even adopted the Rails directory structure
and folder conventions and using it with
express, grunt and yo mama

never fucked with RubyOnRails before, this convention actually looks nice
any official documentation on the structure other than this crappy tutorialspoint page i'm looking at?

Any good books to pick up for ruby? Cuckacademy has a pretty extensive course on it. Worth it?
>>52131699
not that clear, try googling a bit. This project at
github called frodo (github/leemalmac/frodo),
makes a good example of what its like.

try the ruby koans at github (github/neo/ruby_koans)
I learned the first steps with ruby using that, if you
already know a language, you are going to pick
it up pretty fast. Remember practice is the key.
