only got it because i needed a phone for work and Sprint tried to jew me out of more money for my contract. I dig MetroPCS as a carrier but their phone selection is garbage (with the Stylo being the only decent option that wasn't a flagship phone 2 years ago with the price of a current flagship)

Once i get my tax return in i'm going to go shopping around and see exactly what i'll be able to use with their BYOD process.

OP here. Might as well contribute to my own thread.

Lumina 635
Cricket Wireless ($45 5gb of 4g lte data)

Good condition, no scratches or anything. Don't really use cases or screen protectors.
I plan on switching, decided to give a Windows phone a try and I'm personally not digging this phone.

>>52130029
How is the G Stylo? I've seen people praising it and shit, but I can't really see it as nothing more than just LG's version of the Galaxy Note minus stylus features.

basically
>screen is okay, but 720p. Display is nice otherwise
>battery life is decent.
>performance-wise it's nice and smooth, even with graphically or performance intense games/apps. no lag or stutters with the OS.
>stylus is hot garbage. literally a rubber tipped plastic rod that has a holster built into the phone. Zero use of it, absolutely no handwriting responsive apps bundled with the phone.
>Camera is a massive piece of fucking garbage. I've literally taken better pictures with feature phones. They must have royally jewed out on the sensor or something, because it sure as fuck doesn't snap photos like a 13mp camera should.

It has Root and TWRP available, but i haven't seen any custom ROMs floating around, nor have i been able to find a definitive answer as to whether the Boot Loader is locked, or if it's possible to unlock it. So if you're looking to root it just to strip some bloatware or make a proper backup of your device, or play around with Xposed, then that's available to you.

It's worth it so long as you're looking for a phone under $150, and so long as you get it on T-Mobile or Metro. Boost/Virgin/Cricket also have the phone, but there's a difference in models, so those three have the cheaper model with a smaller ROM size and only 1GB of RAM (which does contribute to performance issue). The T-Mobile/Metro versions have a 16GB ROM and 2GB RAM, so no noticeable performance issues unless you're actually trying to choke it up. If you're looking at it solely for the Stylus, or if you like to take a lot of photos, then definitely re-evaluate your options. Other than that, and if you can stand a 720p screen in 2016, it's not that bad of a phone.

Ah. That's one thing I was really wondering about about the stylus if the stylus was actually useful or just a shit gimmick. Yeah I know about the model differences. I was thinking if I do get the G Stylo, I'd just root it and install Link2SD so I could have all my apps and shit on my SD card.

Other option for me is pic related or just buying an unlocked phone off of eBay.

Why? So you can masturbate in the bathroom? Galaxy s6 is better for that.
>>
>>52130656
I can't stand Android. I'll use the iPhone for looking up items I come across at thrift stores, flea markets, and antique stores. It will also come in handy for looking up directions, and keeping occupied during downtime on vacations, etc.

I don't take electronics into the bathroom and can masturbate just fine with my MacBook Air in my bedroom.

I had enough of trying to get GNU+Linux to work right. I had enough of my ThinkPads falling apart due to brittle plastic. I just wanted a nice machine that wouldn't fall apart that runs a nice OS that works without hassle. I got that with my MBA.

And I'm sure as hell not going to buy a phone that runs a horrible Google botnet operating system. Really I probably wouldn't bother getting an iPhone yet, but my mom could really use my Nokia so I'm planning on giving it to her. She has an old Sony Ericsson with a bad battery and it seems like any "new" batteries still available for it have been sitting so long they don't work right out of the box.

AT&T can be a pretty good deal. Unlimited talk, text, and 15GB of data to share among four phones for less than $140 a month. Unlimited data would be nice but T-Mobile and sprint have no coverage outside major urban areas. Verizon's CDMAIDS can fuck right off.
