Why don't you have suicide Linux installed, /g/? It's a script that changes any invalid/ mistyped command into rm - rf --no-preserve-root.
that is quite fun, but i play games which i get on kickass torrents so windows is better for me
I've patched rm to ignore --no-preserve-root
There used to to be a sysadmin-version of doom, where the system deletes a random file every time you die.
Converesely also one where you kill jobs by killing enemies.
I prefer less drastic measures... like the sl train thing.
I use it for business and home use to accomplish various tasks and not turning my computer into yet another hipster psuedo dog athletics show where I'm the dog to waste away the days because I can't get a job.
I dont get all this rm -rf / faggotry.
Why don't you guys use rm -rf ~ instead?
- doesnt need sudo

It stops the system from booting. Removing / is removing the system.

you never actually tried, but know what happens, right?
actually, rm simply freezes after a bunch of error messages
you can still boot and re-download anything you want
setup a vm and try

I have sudo rm -rf'd my system before. I was trying to remove a directory on my external drive and accidentally typed "sudo rm -rf /" instead of "sudo rm -rf ./". I assumed that the system was hosed so I backed up my /home and immediately did a reinstall.
But thanks for the info.
