I do not really want to make a thread for my question, so I thought I would just ask it here.
I HATE anti virus software, as all it seems to do is drain speed. I think of it as a fat mall cop or something.
I am after a nifty and light, but thorough, anti virus software that doesnt run in the background...nor does it boot on start up. I want one that runs when I want it to,simply scans and removes.
Any suggestions?
I have only the need for one as I have started streaming football on my PC and I am worried those sites are full of shit.

You don't need AV, you just need commonsense. The occasional scan by malwarebytes is more than enough if you must scan.
