i cri evertim
Well if you can break the die loose you can put it on a microscope and look at the structures. You won't see super small details without an electron microscope though
>>52116948
what did you use? fucking contact cement?
that's what happens, timmy
>>52117086
the shit that comes preapplied on the fucking heatsink
>>52117123
why would you use the paste it came with? obviously that should never happen to the processor, but I never trust stuff like that.
>>52116948
>AMD
>>52116948
That happened to a P4 I was servicing
I think I put a small blob of thermal compound under there and just replaced the cooler. Worked fine so I sold it
>>52117181
because i didnt have a spare paste at the time
>>52117197
the actual chip is snapped in half as you see in the picture
>>52117197
>thermal compound
>on the die
>>52117181
>trusting a company to make a non-shit product
last time i fall for that one jej
>>52117208
Oh, right. That would be bad I suppose.
>>52116948
Apply torque when removing heatsink...
Looks like it was secured with thermal adhesive.
>>52117279
i did
it wouldnt move at all
Poor man.
What processor was it?
>>52117217
Well, he sold it successfully.
Sasuga AMD, I remember the first time I pulled my heatsink and it came out with the CPU stock on it.
>>52117879
some 4core fx i forgot
Did he fucking mistake thermalpaste with glue or something?
>buy an i5 2400 at release
>stock cooler with preapplied paste
>fast forward to now, still same paste
>idles at 55 and 95 under load
>thermalpaste is brittle as fuck
>just comes off, clean it all
>reapply paste, reattach
>it just fucking werks
>aftermarket coolers
The memes claim another one
>>52116948
you're right anon
delidding is deprecated anyway
dewaffling, that's where shit gets serious
I don't understand what I'm looking at, did part of the CPU get stuck to the bracket or something?
>>52119672
the cpu chip itself tore off from the board it was on
the 'lid' came off (the metal cover), and the cpu (chip) remained stuck to it
basically, it's fucked, you can't put the chip back onto the board
i wouldn't post images like that
because it is confidential
>>52118698
Pretty sure that's the stock cooler
Why not turn the pc on for a few to melt the paste before taking your hsf apart.
Is that an intel or amd cpu? you should sue them
also, you should do some experiments for us :P
Why would you pull the CPU that hard? Get a screwdriver and pry it off. The thermal compound forms a vacuum seal and if you separate the IHS from the heatsink just a little bit the CPU will fall right off.

Please be bait...
we can rebuild, we have the technology
