Is it stupid to cheap out on a mainboard? Want to get a ASRock B85M Pro4 for 61€. If it isn't a good idea to get a cheap mainboard, why exactly?

>ASRock
That's not a good idea.
They're unreliable, even more unreliable if you want to overclock anything
>>52110651
Are cheap boards generally shit? regardless of what brand?
>>52110636
I wanted a new keyboard.
I liked this one
>>52110672

>>52110672
Not planning to overclock.
>>52110686
Cheap boards usually use lower-end components so if stability is key, don't cheap out on the motherboard.
>>52110636
then I went to order it
>>52110636
asrock build had screen flickering issues. unsure if board or something else

As long as:
-it has enough memory slots for your needs
-it can deliver enough power (read up on VRMs)
-it supports the features you need
You're golden.
For instance, right now the best board from a price/performance standpoint in the US is the Gigabyte GA-B85M-DS3H. 4 phase VRMs, 4 DIMMs, plenty of sata ports, and it's all you need so long as you're not gettinga K series CPU.
