How does it feels that GNU/Linux, an OS advocating freedom is only widely used in North Korea?
good
>>52097848
>oppressive OS that watches your every step, doesn't let you change anything, doesn't let you access the web and silently watermarks all your files so they can be traced back to you, even if you only share them on physical media
>advocating freedom
>>52097880
I really doubt north Korea has technical capability to build something like that on top of linux.
>>52097848
>GNU/Linux, an OS advocating freedom

lmfao
GPL is reads like some pathetic basement dwellers fantasy of controlling a female so she wont leave and bruise his ego.
MIT/BSD MASTER RACE. TRUE FREEDOM. FUCK GNU/GPL/LINUX KEKS.

It doesn't really matter which license you prefer, because you have not written anything of value.

Ok, kid.

They just analyzed a 2013 version on 32C3 yesterday.
Just google recent news for Red Star OS

Impressive.

"Well, I think it's justified, but it's justified if you actually make a GNU distribution of Linux ... the same way that I think that "Red Hat Linux" is fine, or "SuSE Linux" or "Debian Linux", because if you actually make your own distribution of Linux, you get to name the thing, but calling Linux in general "GNU Linux" I think is just ridiculous."
everyone is free to use it
>>52097848
Hi OP! You may have heard of me, I'm the most widely used OS on the planet!

Well they do.
Nothing too complex though, they took a linux distro and rewrote it for surveillance, using concepts of security in reverse.

One of the worst german accent I have ever heard.
This is coming from a german.

His shit OS is completely reliant upon the GNU toolchain. It's so poorly written that it can only by compiled on one compiler. If Linux wasn't completely reliant upon GNU he'd have a point but he doesn't.
>>52100494
>It's so poorly written
Using features does not equal poorly written.
>>52098784
Yeah, and Java still shows off on it's installer how over 3 billion devices run it.
What's your point?
>>52100801
Java is a fairly good language so I do not see your point either.

Oh, I see now...

Just because you are bad does not mean the language is bad.

"Umm, this discussion has gone on quite long enough, thank you very much. It doesn't really matter what people call Linux, as long as credit is given where credit is due (on both sides). Personally, I'll very much continue to call it "Linux", ...
The GNU people tried calling it GNU/Linux, and that's ok. It's certainly no worse a name than "Linux Pro" or "Red Hat Linux" or "Slackware Linux" ...
Lignux is just a punny name - I think Linux/GNU or GNU/Linux is a bit more "professional" ..."

That's a quote from Torvalds made in the RevolutionOS movie. IIRC later on in the movie there's a scene where Stallman, in the physical presence of Torvalds and a largish audience, does an "interjection"-like rant.

The fact that they can work on these things is a better testament to freedom than anything Macfags and Windumbasses can ever reason.
GNU/Linux can power anything you want it to. Lock it down, Open it up, make entire botnets or platforms of creative freedom. I can't change the certain formula of any commercial OS+Kernel the way I can do GNU/Linux modifications and that's a concept that powers a lot of the computing done in the world.
