Amps * volts

Probably a bit more, I have one laying around and it powered my PC while I waited for my 700w to come in.
Specs:
>FX-3850
>Radeon R7 260X
>8 GB DDR3
>3 huge ass case fans
> Asus Optical Drive
> Corsair Liquid CPU Cooler

It's a good PSU, can't really answer your question though.

it does output 500, but it has pretty shitty ripple if you pull over 400
>>
>>52095198
Do you not have a "kill-a-watt"?
>>
>>52095310
what is "ripple"
>>52095167
so 480 watts then

Here's the review from which I based my statement about its ripple: http://www.jonnyguru.com/modules.php?name=NDReviews&op=Story4&reid=384

It can output 500 watts of DC electricity. However due to heat generation and other factors it is recommended to only use 80% (~400 watts) of the rated capacity max.

480W Max and will suck 600W Max out your socket.
>>
Max recommended for a long period of time? 420watts Blaze it op
>>
i have it and i have an i5 4460, 280x (dual x version), ga-h81m-s2h, and two 7200rpm HDDs. no issues so far//

At what would be the limit of how much should i force a PSU?

70%? less?

Lets say that if i have a 500W Bronze PSU (EVGA 500B) and my current build uses 330W, is it perfect? good enough? or not enough?
>>
>>52096622
Its perfect, you're at the point where you can comfortable max out with a bit of room left over to keep shit from going full housefire mode.

70% is recommended for regular usage, maxing out at 85%

>FX-3850

What the fuck?
>>
I see, thanks.
This was my build anyway:

>Inb4 locked i5 with expensive Z97 motherboard
Got the motherboard for $30 in a local store this November.

Anywhere between 60 and 100%.
It really doesn't matter that much. I mean shit, your computer isn't going to be pulling 300W all day, it's going to idle at like 100 when shitposting on 4chan.
