I prefer vim. But I never got the point of this.

vim, eclipse for java, visual studio for c#

Just go through the built in tutorial everyday for two weeks and you'll be more productive in vim as long as you can type without looking at your keyboard

place that to shit tier, thanks
>>

Atom is so fucking bad. It takes 30 seconds to open, can't load large files for shit, and the extension/theme system is awful. All for what? Half assed git integration? Ill stick with the shell for git, thanks.
>>
>>52096173
fucking hate Atom and everything it stands for.

70MB download, most of it is the Chromium backend so they can write it in fucking JS

nah, I'd have to drop notepad lower to a new tier. I'll put sublime and textmate to Butt next time if you want. Maybe even let xemacs in the meh.

gVim

Just use the redirect operator for text files
>"#include <studio.h> void main(void){printf("kek.");}" > a1.c
Just werks

vi. The only acceptable unix editor.

Get that Berkeley hippie bull out of my face.
Ed is the standard text editor.

emacs + evil
>>
>>52096014
What's wrong with nano? It just werks.
>>
>>52096946
Well good fucking thing it works. You know what else works? Nearly all software ever written including every single editor on that list.

But you're right. I was too harsh on poor nano. At least it's small and works in terminal. Shame it has a retarded default config.
>>
>>52094900
what I don't understand is how you could use either of them instead of visual studio for a large C/C++ project.
>>
>>52097062
Lightweight and lets me edit on the fly in terminal. Very fast and opens .conf and other text files extremely quickly, but I agree, the default configurations give me autism.
