Does anyone know where you can purchase solderable 3.5mm plugs with threaded end/base for screw on 6.5mm adapters?

I've been trying to find them everyone with no luck so far.

Many people complain about the clamping force or them being uncomfortable but after purchasing I found them to be absolutely fine. I purchased Brainwavz pads to go with them too but I don't even use them because the stock ones are fine.

Sony MDRZX100 ZX (or a similar model): too much bass. Got sweaty quickly. Uncomfortable when not around my ears.
Sony PSVita In-ear Headset: Sounds great for sub $20 IEMs But way too bassy for me. Has to be replaced within half a year. Cables are really cheap and are prone to stretching or maintaining a certain curve.
Sony MDR-V6: Fantastic for home use. Neutral tone. Feels sturdy. Unusable as a portable set because of thick, long, and heavy cables. Pleather is literally the devil's ass and had to replace with velour pads.
>>
could anyone suggest upgrade from superb superlux hd681B? I finally wore them off after what seems like 5 years of constant usage at home and outside and sometimes when I move the cable I can hear some worrying sounds (apart from that it seems fine)
i liked the sound quality desu but obviously it allays could be better, nothing else is my concern (i don't really care about better filtering outside world's sounds or anything)
something worth looking at in slightly more expensive tier of headphones? I'm in europe (Poland, Spain or mail order)
>>
>>52093952
I was personally pleasantly surprised bymy pair of CM Storm Resonars.
No, they're not the best "headset" I've ever used, or the best IEMs out there, but they sound surprisingly okay for "gaming" shit.
The adjustable bass dial is a neat little gimmick too, but you might wanna leave that turned down as even by default it's fairly bassy.

You should realize by now that it's bullshit.
>>
>>52094347
Not quite true. Quite reduced on the dt 770s though. The mids of the 880s and the 990s are fine though. None of them are mids focused though. If you want beautiful mids that are the foucus, go with a nice pair Sennheisers.

They're open backed. Not only does sound leak out and everyone's gonna hear what you're listening because you'll be having a small stereo on your head, but you'll also be hearing the outside world. I recommend some HM5 velour memory foam pads for them, they seal better so they add a bit more bass, and they take some of the harshness out of the treble. Also the stock pads aren't bad by any stretch of the imagination, but these are just so damn comfy.

What are the positives of the K702 over the K612?

In other words, are they worth the extra $80-100?

I just want something more "spacious" sounding for music, my closed headphones like the M50x and M-100 sound too congested for genres like rock.

>>52096436
some here will say the k612s are even more neutral than the k702, but if you ask me, their signatures are so close it hardly matters. youre basically paying for a detachable cable and a bit better efficiency (k702 /does/ need an amp, but a little bit less so). maybe some other details too, if someone else would want to chime in

It's a slightly older and slightly lower-end codec than common nowadays, you might hear some slight improvement. If you can miss the 60 bucks, you might as well as you won't lose anything, quality-wise, and you'll be set in the future if you decide to get harder to drive headphones.

Plantronics GameCom 780.
Sound quality is okay at best.
It has >7.1 Dolby Surround
The mic is okay.
It has a mic mute button and a volume wheel which makes it convenient to use.

The deal-breaker for these is the weak plastic headband. They'll snap at the corners if you have a fat head.
The two pairs I owned each lasted me about 6~8 months of daily use.

Hope this helps.

They're actually good for the price range but everyone shits on them because they're so popular and overhyped that they became a meme. If you don't care about that, which you shouldn't, then they're some of the best open backed headphones out there under $200.
>>
>>52096811

Very bright/harsh

Not sibilant, but they're fatiguing. Honestly, I've used them everyday for about a year and I hate them for music. Mids are too forward and it can be painful to listen to. They're good for general use like with a PC though. I can wear them all day because they're so light.

If noise isolation isn't a problem, I'd recommend the 558's if they're not too out of your budget. Kind of like the V6's, but not harsh or fatiguing. They're also even more comfortable.

ATH-IM70. They're one of the best sounding IEMs for the price, while having very robust build quality. They're also wrap around type IEMs, and they have a pretty fun sound signature (not like the higher end IM ones which are sterile monitors).

They're perfect for exercise

From my experience the HD650 improved very slightly on the treble and bass, but I don't think it's not worth an upgrade or the $100 extra. Unless the HD650 happen to be on sale, grab the HD600.

>>
>>52096674
Very good but consider HD 558 instead.

>>52096917
The problem with the HD 598 is the pricing relative to the cheaper and equal HD 558.

>>52097454
The difference is in the frequency response, coloring, headband and cable. HD 600 is more accurate where the HD 650 has more bass and less treble. It sounds "warm" compared to the HD 600 although the difference is admittedly small. Coloring is obvious, materials used are the same and everything between those two is interchangeable and parts are replaceable. HD 650 has a headband with a notch up top to prevent the headphones from weighing down on the top of your head which tends to be uncomfortable for some. However, they are both very comfortable even if they clamp quite a bit when brand new. HD 650 has a sturdier and more easily manageable cable whereas the HD 600 comes with a thinner less bendable one. HD 650 also includes a nice 6,35mm to 3,5mm adapter cable in the box.

Pick whichever you want really. The HD 600 wins in sound quality but has some slight drawbacks in other areas. While you could just pick up the HD 650 headband padding, HD 650 cable and the adapter afterwards, that'll cost you more than the difference from HD 600 to HD 650. If you prefer a warm, slightly more bassy tone the choice should be obvious. You can always EQ too which would make me consider the HD 650 even if you want accuracy. If you don't want to bother with any extra parts or EQ and just want the best sound out of the box while saving some money, HD 600 is a great option.
>>

>>
>>52099974

>>
>>52100086
Barely, and it's kinda hard to get my hands on a pair, as in I'd have to wait a while, but that's no problem.
Also, those are 300 ohm headphones, would the amplification that is into my Focusrite Scarlett Solo be able to drive those?
>>
>>52100212
Well they are the most accurate pair you can get really. They are easier to drive than all those AKGs mentioned here and due to their impedance you won't be running into any issues with damping either. Focusrite will drive them fine.
>>
>>52100246
Alright man, I'll look into possibly grabbing a pair then. Thanks alot for the help, I appreciate it.
>>
>>52100246
> They are easier to drive than all those AKGs mentioned here
Stop spreading bullshits. HD600 are less efficient than AKG K702.
>>
>>52100377
How about you go recheck those measurements. K702 have lower voltage sensitivity, higher power draw and lower impedance. They are harder to drive loud and a harder load for the amplifiers.
>>
>>52100392
> lower voltage sens
HD600 : 102 dB/V
AKG K702: 105 dB/V

> higher power draw

> lower impedance
This has nothing to do with drivability. AKG K702 have 62 ohm, they're absolutley fine with a low output impedance amp

Strains the amplifier more resulting into higher distortion although with any decent output this should not be a problem. Still, a harder load for the amplifier.

>This has nothing to do with drivability. AKG K702 have 62 ohm, they're absolutley fine with a low output impedance amp
It's related to the power draw figure above as low impedance draws more power and damping. Nobody said anything about low output impedance amplifiers.

The difference in sensitivity is small. Both will be driven with the Scarlett Solo fine but no matter how I look at it, the HD 600 is the easier load.

Moreover the greek guy asking for a recommendation wants an analytical/clean sound. X2 is far from this.

I think that you're overevaluating the power load factor. As I said, this isn't really an issue when the amp has a low impedance output.

However this doesn't change the fact that HD600 is less sensitive than AKG K702.

What would be the differences between the two Superlux headphones?
And how low would I have to keep my porn so it can't be heard on the takstar?
>>
Wow, this general really did degenerate into retarded placebophile central.

>muh amps make the sound quality better
>muh dacs make the sound quality better
>muh soundstage
>muh instrument separation
>muh liquid bass and flowing mids
Go back to hi-fi you retards.

Hd 419, 429, 439 and 449 are all equal in sound quality, just get the cheapest one m8

>Hd 419, 429, 439 and 449 are all equal in sound quality, just avoid all of them
ftfy

419 are good for the price if you have enough gain to equalize them
>>
>>52101032
open headphones leak pretty much everything, so pretty fucking low
I know it's a crude comparison, but try putting on some porn (or music, whatever), point the earcuffs at your head and move it further away, at my standard volume

Because they'll basically be hearing it almost as loud as you do

Most people claim there's more bass in the 681 than in the 668B, but looking at a frequency chart, the 681 seems to have less bass. That might be because they incorrectly named it the 681 while it was a 681B or 681F (not so likely). It might also be that the 681 has clearer bass, but the 668B just has more bass

I think you should mainly look at the headrest, which you think you'd prefer

I don't know what you're talking about, anon
a year ago it was also like this

soundstage is 4 times in this thread, one being yours
instrument is 3 times, one being yours

I think I was the only one who mentioned a DBA-02 recently., along a a huge pile of DAPs, IEMs, and headphones.

IM04 isn't remotely sterile.

>>52099513
Are you serious?

Not for sale.

If you wanted neutral, you basically are looking for a custom version of ER-4. Several manufacturers sell this specifically.
K10 is bassier and duller.

Oh, I'm not sure which would be more comfortable. I'd imagine the plastic or whatever hurting on the HD681, and the HD668B just looks odd. I'll take your word on comfort and go with that.
>>
>>52101142
So, how was your impression? I asked one of my friend to compare it with W4 and he says DBA-02 is harsher and sounding thin. Also, I think you own DBA-02 too. Which version?
>>
>>52101182
I have the SR850 which is a HD681 clone, coming from a headset I was used to hanging the headphones from my neck when I wasnt going to use them for a minute or so. If I tried to do that with these, the plastic headrest cuts into your neck

so you kind of have to start placing them on your desk or lap or leg or whatever. You might be able to fix this by simply wrapping some fabric or something around it, but I'm too lazy.

Haven't tried the 668B's headrest but I didn't get that because it looked retarded

How to use zalman? Do I velcro to headphones or what?
>>
>>52101226
Thanks. I'll get the HD681 then. Ordering in a couple hours.
>>
>>52101233
a lavalier mic is a clip on mic, you just hang it from your headphone cable or your shirt, your ear or whatever the fuck you want to hang it from

>>52101276
aite, hope you like it as much as I did, coming from gamer headsets
>>
>>52101276
if you also are planning to get the zmmic, remember to get them together, or you'll have to pay for the zmmic's shipping, as free shipping is only over 20 pounds

>>52101297
Thanks

but this 30€ pair of headphones were so much better it was incredible
>>
Is it just me, or have those fucking Beats ruined the landscape when it comes to headphones?
