Why do people still recommend this shit? Even Ubuntu server would be better.
It's stable.
>>52091403
are you running stable? you should be running testing for a desktop.
also, backports.
>>52091503
I'm running a server. Why would I want to use an unstable release? The "stability" of Debian is absurd though.
>>52091403
>Ubuntu server would be better.
It is. Sadly.
>>52091503
This. How hard is it to edit your sources.list, OP?
>>52091525
then stable is fine. tried jessie-backports?
>>52091525

m8
Debian is shit desu

Stability.
>>52091557
>then stable is fine
Cleary it isn't.
>>52091607
You realize stability isn't black and white, right?
>>52091632
>You realize stability isn't black and white, right?
Yeah, I do. Apparently you're the one having trouble understanding that.
Debian testing isn't unstable at all. It's just less ridiculously over-stable than debian stable is.
>>52091632
again, try keeping stable but using jessie-backports. it should contain fairly up-to-date packages.
kernel is at 4.2.6, nginx is at 1.9.4 to give you some examples.
>>52091632
I feel like you're intentionally ignoring everyone saying use backports because you have no idea what you're doing.

http://backports.debian.org/
To be honest.
>>52091403
