Honestly you will have a better experience using cheap chromebooks compared to cheap windows laptops. Especially if they only have 2gb of ram.
You can use office online or Google docs for a word processor.
Why not get a second hand Thinkpad T400 or X201 (if you want small). They cost about the same or less and perform way better. In holland you can even get them used with a 1 year warranty if you are paranoid about using 2nd hand equipment.
It'll freeze for few seconds if you open more than two tabs in any web browser. Also >>52079190 this

I suggested this to my dad for his nephew just the other month. Was even cheaper than too. I must say though, that laptop was clean as fuck. Since I'm mostly in a desktop and have since long sold my laptop, I'd definitely get this. Just for browsing the Web/writing documents in bed. Sometimes I'd rather lay down than sit and am basically forced to stop what I'm doing just to relax in bed.
I doubt you would regret it though. Get it and a 64gb micro SD card. I laughed when my dad asked to find a good laptop that was under 200 bucks but I'm actually surprised. One downside is that I THINK it comes with 32 bit windows.... Not sure

The X201 might be bulkier but I'm sure you will like the extra power it has. Also it has a better keyboard for typing since the IdeaPad doesn't have a full size keyboard. The problem with a machine that cheap is that they usually cheap out on important parts like the keyboard and hinges.
I guess if you absolutely do nothing more than shitpost, use word and browse youtube it could do the job for you. But I'm pretty sure you will get fed up with how slow the machine is in time.
