There's nothing wrong with a paywall. It's a legitimate form of paying for services.
Websites with ads on them are either in denial that they are a business or are fully aware that they're a business, and know that their product is you.

They check if the ad resource (usually a picture or css element like div) is loaded or not with javascript, it doesn't matter if you use an adblock extension or a hostfile. uBlock Origin can selectively block inline javascripts to counter that.

What's a good ad blocker for iOS?
Currently using 1Blocker, but YouTube video refuse to play in browsers.
Any adblockers to bypass that? Also uBlock Origin for iOS when?
Honeslty, if every website only used banner ads that don't track, I'd be ok with them. But someone thought it would be a good idea to make flash and video ads with no way to mute or stop the video when I try to read the news.
I don't buy febreeze anymore after that shit.
