The status bar on yours doesn't look too bad actually, but when colored icons show up on the left it does look a little worse. If you want to keep it though I still think it'll look fine.
And on second thought, I think you're right about the clock. If your wallpaper had more of the ground or sky in it, that would be a good place for a clock but it doesn't really fit with the current wallpaper.

Maybe try a material icon pack? It's kind of hard suggesting one for you since the only aesthetic thing is the wallpaper. It's usually easier with some kind of widget or more color based wallpaper, because then you know what look you're trying to go for.

So far, the 3,000mAh is pretty nice. I previously had the Nexus 5, now that battery was very bad in my opinion. This is a much better battery that can last much longer. Factory rom also has some battery extending profiles that aren't bad plus the built in 5.0 Battery Saver mode.

I think you should maybe separate the clock into it's own box, and then combine the weather/battery info with either the clock or the app box.
Try condensing the dock box to the same with as the other box and add the same white border around it for consistency.
Other than that the only thing I'll say is consider removing that reddit icon because people here will keep giving you shit for it and you probably won't get any ratings.

Long press the icon on your home screen, and press edit. The app name will show up at the bottom of the window thing and you just have to tap on that and delete all the text.
There's also an option somewhere in the nova settings to turn off all labels, but I don't remember exactly where that is.
