I have a spare GTX 650 card that I don't make use of and I wwas thinking about dedicating it to PhysX as my main GPU (R9 290) cannot proccess it due to Nvidia's exclusivity. Now tell me /g/, is it worth / safe / stable? I also have a powerful enough PSU to mantain it so there would be no problem

fairly sure they patched out the only trick to enable it a while ago

The Nvidia driver disables PhysX for their cards if they detect an AMD card.
No, it doesn't work. Your PSU won't be the primary issue.

Novidia disables physX and stuff if it detects a AMD card in your system.
Just sell the 650.

Oh really? Good to know, at least I hadn't started yet with the testing but you helped me saving time, thanks /g/uys
Don't listen to these guys.
I run my 5970 with a dedicated 8800 GTS physx card.
Just use the hacked hybrid driver.

That only works with extremely old cards. The newest driver it works with doesn't support the 650.

> 8800 GTS
tfw 2006 was 9 years ago

Not the guy you replied to, but 5970 wasn't released until 2009. I know because I bought one.

doesn't change a thing
it's still old
>disabling a feature that could have made them more sales
Just imagine them marketing those GTX 970 cards as dedicated PhysX processors for the true enthusiast gamer.
