I've been using an old as shit AK ROM to run CM12.1 ROM's via Multirom and let me tell you, it's a complete breath of fresh air to have the actual kernel of CM12.1 (I'll upgrade to 13 when the random reboots are removed) and having a fully functional touchscreen on my Oneplus One; something I should have had from day one.

Because Verizon are a bunch of chucklefucks and locked the bootloader on my LG G3. Getting around it just isn't worth the time, the effort, or the risk.
CM is the vanilla android of custom roms
No one uses it itself, you appreciate it for the custom roms that fork it and make it usable
Because the SlimROM I'm currently using is insanely stable and gives me crazy good battery life.
Why would I then change to 6.0.1 which first off gives me worse battery life, even with doze, due to few optimizations, bugs, fewer features, unfinished features, and is generally a lot less stable?
It's not like 6.0 gives that many good features. The only ones it gives that actually matter is doze and privacy guard for non-custom ROM users. So it's completely fucking useless.
How is CM13 currently? I've been holding off buying a 5X, because I want usable and reliable CM on it.

if they share the same board, you could try, but i'm not into rom kitchen.
Best bet is if the SoC is the same & modify the mk files related to omni (see porting omni to your device on the wiki)
Or you find a github where someone already did this for your device and sync the repos with a roomservice.xml
So it kinda comes down to build it yourself if it doesn't exist yet, or wait for someone doing it and build the whole thing.
In your case with limited hddspace & internet you are kinda fucked if there's no ready to flash build (official or unofficial on xda eg.)

Not the guy you responded to but I also am running a OPO with sultans 12.1 ROM. I'd be running his 13 rom but I rely on my phone heavily for work so I need stable. I'd recommend it, the phone is underclocked by default for best battery life, if you're an autistic child and require playing video games on your mobile phone you can flash a package to disable the underclock though.
