Bros, is this worth using over Windows 10?
>>
In my opinion yes, because windows 10 is still buggy in my experiences. Im dual booting 7 (for legacy programs/pirated ) and 8.1, for newer things that aren't supported on 7

7 is the only acceptable windows to use on /g/

>>52040251
How's the botnet on 7, though?
>>
>>52040158
No reason other than tinfoil hatters that fear telemetrics.
10 is faster than 7 and after the 10586 build everything is rock solid, its like the first service pack.
>>
>>52040158
yes, it's mostly botnet-free. there are some telemetry updates, but you can just ignore/uninstall those KBs.
>>
>>52040276

Nonexistent, as long as you disable updates and manually uninstall the botnet "updates" that may have gone through. There's a list of them somewhere.

>>52040158
For some legacy XP-era programs, yes. To give a weeb examples, several great VNs don't run on 8 but run on compatibility mode 7

Here is nice list of updates to remove that are connected to windows 7 telemetry. It needs to be updated to include the December windows client update.

It still drops my second hard drive (surprise removal in event logs). Still has tons of hard drive accessing going on.

Windows 7 boots up a hell of a lot quicker on the same machine.
>>
I had Windows 10 since it launched
I literally just updated 5 minutes ago and now my computer is being weird as fuck.
After the update installed, they were giving me these creepy ass messages on my screen like it was trying to brainwash me
About 15 minutes later it finally "booted" into windows
I couldn't do anything.
I tried alt+f4 menu and restart, but it had this weird registry thing running that wouldn't let it.
After about 5 minutes of that, it just went back to Windows and I couldn't alt+f4 menu anymore,
I hit the power button to shutdown and that registry thing was still running so I hit Shutdown anyway
I restarted and everything loaded slow as shit
Everything seems ok for now. But I'm going to have to do a lot of digging to see what MS fucked up with this update.

Alright, now. That's enough. You know, it's all coming back to me now. I remember once long ago, My friend had Windows 10 installed. I just remember seeing this... blank cd for this pale, lifeless, emotionless spyware with the dullest UI, the most awful functionality. He spent 8 hours trying to figure it out and another 7 trying to keep it locked in my closet because I knew what was living behind that OS... was simply evil

Criminals also will get access to the personal information that Microsoft collects. Everything from your private dick picks to the password you write to use your bank. It is only a matter of time

AFAIK you don't even need to worry about those spyware updates, as long as you have CEIP disabled:

I got my own solid meme drive for christmas and am not sure if I should clean install W10 on it or just clone my W7 installation to it.

If I clean install 10 on ssd - will I still be able to use my old W7 installation from HDD or using the key for W10 invalidates the 7 key?
>>
>>52040158
yes
don't forget to uninstall the telemetry updates :^)
