why does /g/ hate manjaro so much?
>>
I actually like it. The i3 flavor is already riced out, which is nice for the lazy people
>>
It manages to be more pointless than Ubuntu flavour #573
>>
untrustworthy devs, from what i hear

something about going back in time
>>
I don't see how anyone could hate it. It has an awesome logo.
>>
>>52024882
One of the devs is a homosexual. And, as we all know, homosexuality is an abomination. So spake Jesus himself.

arch for babbies and its not secure

Because arch is /g/'s "Too hard linux so only pro haxxxorz like us can use it" anything that tries to make life easier is forbidden cuz "muh arch is not for normies"

This is an elitist clubhouse.
>>
because it is easier to install than Arch and does not use AUR by default. it takes away their street cred if things become too easy.

>muh sekrit club
>>
>>52024882
/g/ hates it because it's an easy alternative to Arch and is fairly popular. It also has some annoying bugs and the devs are fairly incompetent.

I don't care. I used it for a while and liked it.
>>
Because arch is stupid and Manjaro is an arch based distro that takes every good thing away from arch and is maintained by two literal autists.

The AUR is the best part of Arch Linux. Without it what's the point of not just installing Ubuntu?
>>
>>52025912
I loved the aur and realized how much fucking better it was than managing a dozen independent ppas for software, then every time I updated I had to recompile and manually hit "yes" twice for each update. I don't have 10 minutes to update my computer and do nothing else. I'm on it when I need it. It is quite literally a timesink OS
>>
>>52026460
You can update every fucking 2 weeks , dude.
>>
>>52026487
Still. It's wasted time that overturns it's benefit

You don't have to hit yes if you don't want to.
Read the fine manual.

to each his own, i have nothing against arch or manjaro. aur is a good way to get software but i am on xubuntu because most games only work with ubuntu derivatives.

Because of stolen logo, security issues and a workaround for expired SSL.
Other than that it's just arch with installer that works.
There are issues but mostly because if the the "arch way" which you can get around eventually, and it comes with different DEs, and an i3 version.

what?

when you look at compatibility lists of wine and playonlinux, debian based distros are dominating with very few mentions of arch or opensuse. go look it up before you accuse me of lying.
