SLI Titan X or Trifire Fury X? Same price here in Cuckanada.

Can you even fucking Trifire Fury X? Has anyone done this? Is the cable long enough to do this? Lol
>>
>>52022758
Why do you need that much graphics power?
>>
>>52022782

No particular reason as to why I need it... Just want to do it, lol
>>
>>52022782
Crysis on high
>>
Neither. Wait til new cards if you want to blow money on nothing.

Something like this is what I'd like to build, not sure about the GPU's yet though, and the case, but everything else I'm 100% sure on.

Don't even have the monitors yet. Can't decide between Widescreen 34 inch or the 27 inch ROG PG279Q...

Also 8k CDN, so thats like 5.5k USD.
>>
>>52023037
Jesus christ just why
You can spend half that, have a beastly machine, and then spend the other half down the line to either upgrade or make a new build, and still be ahead of the curve in performance for both builds
>>
>>52022758
980ti run better in 2x sli
>>
>>52023092

I just got paid for my internship recently, made a nice chunk of change (5-6 x the cost of this build after adding a monitor or 2)....

So, doing it "because I can" and I've never built a PC before, so want to get into it.
>>
>>52023116
Well you've got to do some more researching if you want to get into it by the looks of that build
>>
>>52023140

What's wrong with the build? Everything lines up on PCPP?

Crossfire scales better than sli, do even though 1 fury x is a tiny bit slower than a Titan x in most games, 2 will match performance with 2 Titan x in sli, and 3 will btfo it.
See how they scale in multi gpu here.
1 980 ti = 20 fps.
2 = 33 fps.

Whereas,
1 fury x = 22fps
2 = 45

m8, go ask reddit.com/r/buildapc for help and mention your budget

I know it's the cool thing here to hate on reddit and all but this is one of the better communities there

Thoughts? Made a few small changes.
>>
>>52023394

Why an Air cooler instead of AIO?

Also why GSkill instead of Corsair? I know RAM is RAM but I like the look of the Corsair better, the GSkill looks plasticy/cheap to me from pictures.

And, why Gigabyte Mobo? Rampage matches theme of build, Red/Black...?
>>
>>52023235

Yeah I just saw a huge review on it, Quad vs Quad, and the Fury X absolutely ruins the Titan X in Tri or Quad setups.

I think I'm set on the Fury X, it's cheaper and better

>>52023249

Alright, I'll go make a thread on l'eddit, thank you!
>>
>>52023423
Because most of your build is just overkill
>>
>>52023459

That's for me to decide, not for you
>>
>>52023487
get the fuck off my board normies
reeeeeeeeee

seriously though why'd you even fucking ask
>>
>>52023580

I never asked you fucking prick, I asked about GPU's specifically.
>>
>>52023487
Legitimately just buying one flagship card every year will cost the same amount of money and have you end up with more power for more of the time without having to fuck around with drivers trying to get games to work. When your budget is this high you spend it on aesthetics. Do you want your computer to be large and imposing? Small enough that it will never get in your way? Do you like the look of cooling tubes? What colour scheme do you want? Etc.

Is that a good build? OP here BTW. Thought about what you guys said, about it being overkill and whatnot, decided to maybe hold off on building a killer PC and building this instead...

I can get 2 screens, an i5, 16GB of RAM, 2.25TB of storage SSD+HDD for movies and I only play 1 or 2 games...

Is this good for the next 1 year for 1080p on one monitor, while watching a movie on another?

What are you going to be using this for OP?
>>
>>52025829

Nothing really, just browsing the internet, playing some very low power games, like Drift City, Gunz 2, CS:GO, etc etc

I'm not a pro or anything, just a casual gamer lol, also really into media consumption, love watching Netflix and shit, but will also be doing a good amount of homework (Engineering student - Software Engineering)

I've put together this one as well: http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/c3h6GX

So, which would you recommend spending my money on? I kind of like the one I just made better because it has all the basics, USB Type C, 3.1, HDMI, better 144hz screen, R9 390X 8GB, and an i5 I can OC if I need too

I think it's worth spending the $2k on this, compared to the other one.. What do you think?
>>
>>52025970
Why not a 6700k and do not fucking get that cooler master garbage, coolermaster is a great brand but that thing is an overweight awkward piece of finger pricking shit. If you said this is your first time building get something nicer.

I recommend a downdraft cooler, coolermaster has some good ones, and be quiet makes some sexy ones

Also not a shill to either brand, but I would go Nvidia unless you're getting the 295x2
>>
>>52025970
Also if you get a mechanical keyboard I recommend cherry mx browns
>>
>>52026032

Because 6700k is $150 more, and if I keep adding expensive shit, it'll quickly become like $6000 lmao

I was thinking of the Be Quiet darkrock pro3, but its kinda pricey for an air coolerrr but i might do it..

I guess I can make my budget $2500, BUT NOT A PENNY MORE BECAUSE TAXES WILL RAPE ME
>>
>>52026064
may I pick something out for you
>>
>>52026106

Sure, $2500 CANADIAN though...
>>
>>52026106

http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/XMBfXL

I got that, for $2500... Looks good from your perspective?
>>
>>52025970
>Nothing really, just browsing the internet, playing some very low power games, like Drift City, Gunz 2, CS:GO, etc etc

>SLI Titan X or Trifire Fury X

OP is a fucking idiot
>>
>>52026114
first off a few questions? Do you want it to be windowed and sexy or do you not care and What resolution do you want? 1080, 1440, 4k?
>>
>>52026142

I think he knows because he said this >>52025185
>>
>>52026156

I kind of want it to look good, I want 1440p ideally, but 1440p monitors are expensive...

I guess sexy, 1440p, is good, if that's do-able in $2500 CDN
>>
>>52026140
I'd get a little beefier psu
>>
>>52026156

Make the budget $2610, but I don't mind going to $2750 AT MAX.

Mainly because, some things on Amazon is tax-free for me, because US retailer and all, and also not sure how much tax I'll have to pay for some of it, because some stores based in US. I need a screen in the build as well, so yeah
>>
>>52026183

Why beefier when PCPP only says like 500 watts? (479W) I thought 50%+ required was the general rule of thumb? 1.5 x required?
>>
>>52026229
the lower stain percentage the better and it leaves expansion room
>>
>>52026265

Ah I see, so this is better? http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/p/JL6c99

I know OCZ used to be a good brand, not sure about their PSU's though, all I remember about them was their gold OCZ Ram Sticks from DDR2 days lol
>>
>>52026344
that is way over your budget though pham
>>
>>52026431

Woops, didn't mean to include 2 x 390X, just one, but yeah lol
>>
Not OP here but seems like a good place to ask, there is the PG279Q ROG for like $1117 here in Canada, and then the MG279Q, for $752... Is the PG279Q ROG worth paying the extra $300 for, just for G-Sync and the extra 21Hz (144 - 165), OR is the MG279Q fine, for someone with an AMD R9 390X gpu? Also the ROG is IPS, while the MG is not, but is IPS + 21hz worth $300 more?
>>
>>52026471

Oh wait, they both have IPS actually, so is G-Sync + 21Hz worth $300 more if you don't even have a nVidia GPU?
>>
>>52026443
http://pcpartpicker.com/p/h2qL8d
this is more reasonable, feel free to add a gou or change band and or monitors, your money
>>
>>52026533

... $3900 Canadian lol.

LMAO.
