Realistically pointless but aesthetically its sexy.

Have you ever used one of them? They get really fucking hot.
Watercooling is overkill sure, but it's not as pointless as you'd think

Ebin indeed

I was dicking around the interwebs and I discovered motherboard water blocks then I thought... I wonder if they make a water block for the 750 I bought.
>>
>>52008056
They were designed to run that hot.

>No waterblock for the RAM
>No waterblock for the ports on the back
>No waterblock for the standoffs
Step it up, casual

I thought I understood water-cooling...

I was wrong. Full retard does exist.

If I had the money I wonder how retarded I could get.
>>
>>52008091
Motherboard blocks are largely pointless these days, as Intel has moved most of the hot circuitry onto the CPU.
The VRMs and chipset still get warm, but not hot like they used to and certainly not hot enough to require watercooling.

>he doesnt overclock his ssds

They're pretty styling though.

>>52008159
At some point you just say fuck it and watercool EVERYTHING like https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CIbnl3Pj15w

>>52008164
Some high-end motherboards let you bypass the CPU's built-in VRM.

I know, buts its the fact that they make them that's so cool. Its the fact that full retard exist that makes it so cool. Who thought that you can just go all out like that? You thought LED strips were the shit?

Waterblocks man.

I wonder how deep the rabbit hole goes....
>>
>>52008219
Well for one you can dunk the whole thing in a tank, you juts need pumps to circulate the oil
>>
>>52008242
See >>52008188
Oil isn't efficient for that, you want something that boils at a very low temperature so hot pockets of liquid will just vaporize.

Yeah I heard of mineral oiled pcs but those aren't as good as watercooled ones. Really its more about a show piece at that point.

A company used to make proper aquarium pc cases but got sued so I don't know what became of it.

I dont get it. How does the psu get cooled if the water never even enters the psu at all? It says right kn there "water does not enter psu".

Is the part the water is in contact with like one huge heatsink blanketing the entire inside of the supply?

Anyhow, ram blocks have always been worthless but motherboard blocks used to be necessary to clock the shit out of certain chips. Like first gen core I series and LGA 1366 socket motherboard vrm sections used to be crazy hot.

Now all the voltage stuff is usually on die in the cpu. Wont be surprised to see some type of m.2 ssd block pop up on the market. Shat with samsung 950 pro m.2 drives hitting 70C under peak loads.
>>
>>52008604
Water goes through solid block on the outside, solid block continues through inside, has the transistors bolted to it.
>>
>>52008014
Thanks for letting everyone know you have no idea what SLI is
