the slim bezel is what really sold it for me. most of the monitors i was comparing these two had very similar specs so the bezel was the deciding factor.

4k 40" TVs seem so much cheaper to buy than monitors, but you need adapters for displayport is the only issue.

Recently ordered an Acer CB240HYK. Thought it would kinda shitty for so cheap ($329) but it's actually a pretty solid display. 4k looks amazing and the colors are great too.

monitors usually have higher dpi and lower response times. they're better for video games. if you only do work/webbrowsing or just watch movies, hooking up a tv to your computer is a valid alternative. it's best to have both, though.

The IPS is not a meme. I got the 27"Ultrasharp and never looked back. becasue its juts bright and the viewign angles do make a difference in overall viewing performance, I dont even care its 60Hz its been individually calibrated for srgb which is what i wanted

Those monitors have light bleed issues. Be sure to check that shit when it arrives and be prepared to return it. Mine was so bad it was unusable, looked terrible sitting next to 2008 TN 4:3 screens i got for free out of the trash
