I have an old ass printer without any networking capability. It's a good printer, but I have several computers and they can only be hooked up on one at a time.
I want to hook it up to the network somehow. My router has a USB port but it seems to only work for mass storage. I can't actually connect to the printer that way. I also tried connecting it to the nearest computer and it works as a network printer, but if the computer is shut off, it stops communication for obvious reasons.

Using linux on a new laptop, which unlike my previous one, it doesn't just werk on. Network card isn't working. lspci -v detects it and says that there is a kernel driver in use (ath10k if it matters.) Sounds to me like it should work (?) and Jewgle is no help. Anyone have a suggestion?
Is there some kind of command in Windows to force thumbnail generation for a folder? Having to slowly scroll through after my thumbnail cache gets wiped by CCleaner or whatever is annoying.
Bonus points if it can do so recursively on subfolders.
Building a new system /g/. Trying to decide between an i5 6600k and an i5 4690k. All things included, it would be about 60 bucks more to go for the skylake 6600k, with an 1151 motherboard and DDR4.
One thing to note is that I will probably not be upgrading much. I plan to possibly just sell the system in 3 to 5 years.
Seems like right now the performance differences between haswell and skylake aren't worth the extra $60 since I don't plan on getting PCI-E or M.2 SSDs, doing SLI, or upgrading that much.

Assuming that the SSD will only be used to store the OS and drivers, the first option sounds good, but if you go for the second option, you can store some games that have longer load times (like civ5 or skyrim) on the SSD. Personally, I'd go for a simple SATA 3 SSD.

So I just recently bought a USB headset for my rMBP 2015 to use with skype. It seems to work fine for 10-20 minutes, but after that my voice starts coming through choppy and the other people in the call start to sound a little weird. Is the headset bad or do I have my settings screwed up? Because if I fiddle with Skype's settings a little bit it goes back to working fine. Anyone know what the problem is?
