Chromium, because Furrycucks spent $15,000 USD to replace slave in their code
>>

>Chromium
Downloads binary blobs without your consent. Literal malware.

>Furrycucks spent $15,000 USD to replace slave in their code
No they didn't. That is just one of many things they have and will continue to do.
Check out their website and look at all the other stuff they provide http://buildbot.net/
The slave/master thing was probably a publicity stunt if anything, and it brought attention to their services.
>>

>HTTPS-Everywhere
Self explanatory.

>uBlock Origin
Your go-to ads/scripts/content/whatever-blocker. Anything else is inferior and/or shady shit.

>uMatrix
If uBlock Origin's Dynamic Filtering is not enough, for advanced users.

>Self-Destructing Cookies
For managing cookies.

>Classic Theme Restorer
Advanced UI modifications.

That's pretty much all the essential stuff. Anything else is just fluff and you should think twice about adding more as it could impact performance.

any details on this? how is it not accurate?

>Bloat.
nah, i want the flags and the ability to open a geoip/whois lookup with one click.

>Can't you just disable history in Firefox?
i don't want to disable history. i use this to block specific domains that tend to create a lot of history items that aren't very useful. google and 4chan for example.

>You can use userChrome.css and/or userContent.css to do the same thing without the need for an extension.
i'm using userChrome.css for some UI-related stuff, but i like stylish for things i might want to change on the fly, like a custom 4chan style

I first read about it on uBlock Origin's GitHub but it was/still very new so kinda wanted to wait before trying.

Noob here.
How do I style tabs, adress bar etc.? I mean Is it possible to completely rework the appearence of browser's frame? for example to not be tabs above adress bar , etc.
>>
>>51999039

It's a plugin that stores and uses local copies of popular CDN content (jQuery, as an example) to reduce bandwidth usage and to keep CDNs from spying on you through requests.

It works, it's stable, and you should be using it.

I know what it is. Like I said, I already knew about it before.

This is what I want to hear… Thanks anon. Going to install it right away.
Btw one more question before I do –can you use captcha on 4chan without allowing Google shit using this?

You can use CSS to style it in userChrome.css
But it's probably easier to install a theme or an extension like Classic Theme Restorer to modify stuff for you.

Are you using Nightly or something?
They have moved Hello from completely nested in Firefox to plugin-based instead, not sure if this made it to Nightly yet.
Try going to about:addons and disable it from there.

Firefox has addons. Addons are the things a user is free to install and change. Firefox also has plugins. Those are generally installed by some shit software that doesn't respect users. Plugins are shit. Themes are a special case of addons.

Chrome has extensions. They're like addons, but in chrome. Chrome has themes but they don't do anything. Chrome has no plugins anymore.

Get the fucking jargon right, people.
>>
>>52001304
There are no "extensions" in firefox, and addons are not an umbrella term for everything. Addons are addons, themes are addons, plugins are plugins. It stops there.
>>
>>52001615
>Chrome has themes but they don't do anything.
They are like "Lightweight themes" (previously Personas) for Firefox.

>Chrome has no plugins anymore.
Yes it does. It comes bundled with Flash. You can disable it in chrome://plugins/
>>

>>

>But can you customoize Chrome as much as Firefox?
No, because Chrome doesn't have an equivalent to "Complete Themes" like Firefox does.

There are themes (Lightweight/Personas/Chrome-like)
https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/complete-themes/

And then there are Complete Themes.

Oh my, that's a handful. Do you feel Firefox's performance suffers because of all these extensions?
Or are they all very lightweight/well-optimized?
>>

>very lightweight/well-optimized?

I don't think so. But even if isn't performance wise IT IS productivity/privacy wise.
>>
>>52002769
So are you saying there is a performance hit but it's worth it?
>>
>>52002798
Not him, but as someone with a lot of add-ons installed, yes. I'm a former Opera user, so out of the box, Firefox is completely unusable to me and feels like Chrome.

I'm willing to take a performance hit of a couple seconds of boot-up time to use a browser I can tolerate.
