What browser does /g/ use?

Currently switching to palemoon on Arch Linux.
I really liked chrome and windows, but decided I need to keep my privacy intact.
Frustration aside, it is much better than winshitdows.
>>
>>51994352
i'm on furry moon as well but the incompatibility with most add-ons and this shit with flash and youtube/facebook drives me mad some times.
>>
>>51994352
Random question, OP. I'd like to try Arch Linux but I don't like the idea of needing to update it too much. Should be fine if, say, I didn't update for a week or so? Because I don't want a fucking cluster of downloads killing my setup.
>>
>>51994761
Yea but you might want to set up filters to allow for security updates.
>>

>Should be fine if, say, I didn't update for a week or so?
yes

>but I don't like the idea of needing to update it too much.
Why would you want Arch anyway?
>>
>>51994352
chrome
>>
>>51994352
haha le iexplore is pure cancer meme xD

nice one op!, liked faved upvoted and subscribed
>>
>>51994352
Firefox. Palememe is irrelevant at best and a security risk at worst.
>>
>>51994352
Chrome is the only usable browser. Plus it integrates with the other Google products pretty well.
>>
>>51994352
Opera

Is literally Chrome without the botnet and with a better GUI
>>
>>51994352
isn't chromium botnet-free?
>>
This is what sucks. The only browsers supported in a professional setting apparently are Internet Explorer and Chrome. Go to some site coded like an enigma and the coding refuses to let you go in unless you use either of two cancerous browsers.

I personally use Chromium but that is only for personal use. My profession unfortunately demands me still use IE while at work.

Safari

I want to port uBlock Origin to Safari but I don't know how. If I could use that and not chrisblock i would

it's a really fast browser with a minimal interface. it doesn't hog battery like chrome either

some of the porn sites i visit seem to not load videos sometimes which is odd
>>
>>51994352
Edge, it's the fastest browser on windows, much faster than those sideloaded pos
>>
Vivaldi FTW.

vivaldi

I don't give a fuck about IE's dreadful performance. That's the problem of the blithering idiots who choose to use it in 2015. I HATE how it implements features years after all the other browsers, usually with weird quirks that can only partially be worked around.

And what's worse is that it isn't evergreen. Doesn't upgrade automatically. FUCK that. Microsoft is definitely to blame for the 30% or so of internet users who still browse the web in IE 8 and 9. IE 10 is... barely bearable, but at least you can (with lots of workarounds) develop for it like it was a modern, well engineered browser.

I welcome chrome. I'd never use it, holy shit, I'm not sending ALL I do on the web to google. But I'm glad that it takes market share from IE.

>it doesn't hog battery like chrome either

That is Apple's fault. they do it on purpose on any non-apple browsers. the code on chrome is fine, it is the apple code that limits non-apple browsers that does it.

The UI is unusable. Especially when you have lots of tabs open, it's impossible to find the one you want due to the lack of favicons. And you can't middle click the front and back buttons to open the last page in a new tab, which I do frequently.

I don't think opera is too bad. All the other major browser send all your information to their respective companies. I use palemoon but it could use some serious work.
>>
>>52000521
what if i don't care about the botnet and just a good product?
>>
>>52000473
Nice job editing the chrome one
>>
>>52000530
>botnet
>good product
Pick one
>>
>>52000473
except you can turn all of that off easily and some of it isn't even on by default.

>>52000605
i pick both because you're a fucking retard

>incompatibility with most add-ons
Usuallly just involves looking at the older versions; old != worse, as usually FF addons just version bump to work with newer FF versions. You want to look for anything that works for FF24.

>shit with flash and youtube
>being this autistic

>facebook
Works for me.

I'm on Arch and I usually don't remember to update more than once every couple weeks. Because it's a rolling release the updates rarely change anything noticeable and rarely if ever take more than a few minutes.
>>
Op here

>>51994761
Of course it will be fine. However, security updates are usually needed, but for the most part there is usually a couple packages with unnecessary updates ever day.

>>51998285
Closed source bullshit. How do you know that opera isn't sending your information?

>>51998321
Any chrome derivative is botnet. I think chromium is less botnet though, but who is going to look through millions of lined of code to see if it truly is botnet.

>>52000192
I considered this. Vivaldi does seem like a good option. Any more comments on this?

>>51999450
Kill yourself

>>52000657
If this is the case I'll uninstall it and try Vivaldi or some shit.
