Pretty much any FPS game that is being played competitively on PC is optimized well enough to run at that frame rate and this won't change in the future.
It's true that this doesn't apply to a lot of games but people buying these monitors or people that are curious about these kinds of monitors are typically already playing those games.

I don't understand why anyone would do this. It's not like the display is any better; you're paying for shit that doesn't really make a difference. $300+ premium for G-Sync, $300+ premium for 1ms IPS when you can't tell the difference between anything 1-6/8, $200-300 premium for 144Hz when you almost assuredly won't run anything that high... You could spend $400 and almost get 2 980tis with that kind of money. You could spend $400 and build a computer that would run anything you want for the remainder of the money.
If you have that much money to blow I guess you will do what you do, though.

I've been working off laptops with cheap 21" monitors. If money was of little significance, would 2 of those predator monitors serve any purpose other than looking cool (which does count for something in my book)?
Is there something comparable at a lower price that would be worth looking at so I could spend more money on things like furniture?
