We're at a point of diminishing returns when it comes to thickness. Any manufacturer could make their phones thinner by removing the 3.5mm jack and reducing the battery size. Though that sacrifices functionality for a negligible decrease in thickness. Manufacturers should keep the 3.5 jack and just fill whatever space is left by its presence with more battery.
