Are HD 201 worth it?
I have Koss PortaPro, but want to give 201 a shot too and see what is more comfortable for me (PortaPros have great sound, but feel a little weird on my ears).
/hpg/ is no help at all
You'd be better off modding your porta pros with larger ear pads than wasting money on yet another entry level set of headphones.
hd202 is more comfortable.

Liar i own 202, my ear always itchy and burn after long hour use. Save your money op go with senn hd4*9 lineup they're comfortable.

Somewhat related, my kid was wearing my cans and ran off to do something without taking them off, damaging the 3.5mm Jack. Is there an easy way to add a new 3.5mm Jack without a soldering iron?

I own one too, my ears aren't burning after using them. The problem is might be with your ears m8.
Do yourself a favour and top up another 40 bucks for the MDRV6 instead.

long 5m unnecessary cable and bad frequency response for the price. Isn't very portable if you want to take it anywhere. It isolates pretty well tough.

Not sure if OP is here, but I was literally wearing those headphones as I saw this thread.
Sound quality isn't great, but is a step above most earbuds. Sound isolation is pretty good. Cable is way too fucking long. Also if you've got normal sized to big ears they'll probably be a bit uncomfortable.
They've made a decent backup pair since I fucked up the jack on my Beyerdynamics.

I had HD 180 (it's absolutely same 201's but for 3rdworlders like me, blyat), and I can say that even le gayman Turtle Beach headset sounds better than this.
Strongly recommending to look for Sennheiser HD419/429/439
