Try using the main release on Windows or Linux. It makes you use the keyboard instead of the mouse to use the menu, and then press Z and X do navigate it instead of enter/backspace. After that, you need to go to UPDATE CORES to be able to INSTALL them in first place. That's just the beginning. It's a complete mess.
>>
>>51974304
What GUI?
>>
>>51974452
that's because you should be using a controller

who plays emulators with a keyboard?
>>
I'm surprised nobody has made a decent front-end for retroarch yet.

the GUI is perfect and it keeps the smartphone retards away

>menu>menu>menu>menu>completely obtuse title for the simple thing you want to do that can only be found after 1hr of googling.

Fuck you. I'll pirate office 2013 instead.
>>
>>51976796

2016 is out already
>>
>>51974215
Did you last use it when they were still using rgui as default?
>>
>>51976796
this
>>
>>51976796

I use Microsoft Office too and I'm checking out Libre Office 5 via a live USB right now and it's not that many menus like you implied.
>>
>>51976842
who wants 2016? they fucked it up, 2013 is still the go-to version
>>
>>51977062

What's wrong with 2016?
>>
>>51977094
hmm.. lets see, 1st they fucked up outlook (you cant sometimes log into exchange)

broke some macros in excel

and its just a pointless upgrade in the other office applications
>>
GIMP

its so bad it makes me sick
>>
>>51977119
Gimp is not great and the UI isn't that bad.
>>
>>51977247
GIMP is amazing for a free image manipulation tool
The gui is just garbage though
>>
>>51977247
No seriously.
>default split windows
>every tool is unintuitive and ass backwards
>menu options are literally in the place you'd look for them last

Honestly. It's so shit.
>>
>>51977288
Gimp lacks non destructive editing and CMYK support. Especially the former is a huge flaw for me.
>>
>>51977315
Since using Krita, I cannot go back to GIMP, it just feels so much better and with more features.
>>
>>51977315
I find gimp brilliant.
BUT THAT FUCKING LACK OF COLOUR SHIT.
It ruins it for me.
Everything is 8bpc srgb. Shame when I have to use something else and have to go back to Windows.
>>
>>51977388
>gimp
>brilliant

Autist detected.
>>
>>51976796
I more just can't stand the fucking teletubby icon set, it just feels really unpolished and unenjoyable to use, not to mention they're still clinging to that shitty, wasteful (although more modular) Office '97 interface.

Working with tables in Writer is also fucking annoying beyond reason.
>>
>>51977003
If you were actually in the business of getting something done, you'd commit Sudoku by the time you get your report/ letter finished SENPAI.
>>
>>51974215
> implying RGUI is bad
It's simple, intuitive (for the most part) and looks good (though, I don't have high standards regarding looks).
XMB is ugly. I am still waiting for the day that I can replace XMB by a custom menu on the PS3, just like it's possible on the PSP.
Also, Squarepusher is shit.
>>
>>51975502
It’s called hyperspin.
>>
>>51974503
it looks and works mame-like

the only people complaining are the ones used to emulators like snes9x/vba/epsxe/etc
>>
>>51974215
what's wrong with it?
>>
>>51976796
Try KingSoft Office instead over Microshit. Its base version is free (not open source) but it looks and feels a lot like Microsoft Office and supports Linux
>>
>>51974452
Use an Xinput gamepad, they're autoconfigured out of the box even without any external autoconf profiles. The menu is mainly gamepad driven and the keyboard is just mapped with joypad buttons. Mouse does work in the menu by the way, it's enabled by default on the 1.3.0 nightlies.
>>
>>51974452
They don't include cores anymore because of some licensing crap over GPL and some of the non-commercial licensed cores.

That and to make the initial download much smaller.
>>
>>51980170
Retroarch has a terrible UI. I know its open source and free but its really awful
>>
>>51980198
It's fine. It's no worse than other emulators just different
>>
Software aesthetics make me feel :( waaah
