why are motherboards the most defective part of a computer? im doing research for a decent lga1150 z97 motherboard and no matter where i go there's always tons of 1 star reviews over dead or defective mobo's.
why is this? and its not like im being cheap these are all 100$+ mobo's im looking at... is it so hard to find a decent high quality mobo?
they aren't, people are just bad at troubleshooting
They connect to and affect everything in your build, is the most manhandled part, and has the most surface area for dust and heat.
My Asus z170 pro gaming was defective on arrival. Newegg RMA'd it just fine though.

Because you buy shit instead of evga motherboards
>>51973372
I got a Gigabyte ULTRA DURABLE gaming rev1 wifi
how fucked am I?
OP here im going for the ASRock Fatal1ty, let us pray i dont get a shit mobo.
>>51973978
>ASRock
Poor OP.
>>51973372
Because every other idiot buys a cheap low-end board like it doesn't matter and then complains that it's shit.
Motherboards and PSUs are similar: if you cheap out, you're gonna have a bad time.
>>51973372
the MSI PC mate
i fucking have one m8 been running almost 24/7 under full loads since '13
Stop buying from shitty websites
>>51973978
>ASRock
No amount of praying is going to stop that board from being shit.
I'd imagine handling of the products by the company, heard of stories of pc components being thrown around and stuff, you gotta find non-shitty companies. Even though low-end stuff is cheaper I don't think they would want to shoot themselves in the foot with faulty parts (even though they do use cheap shit like weak capacitors that blow out) I have 39$ 1150's that still work after years.

truth... My z68 asrock board had a defective bios to start off with. I could never overclock my 2600k properly. Still using it but goddammit it's a piece of overpriced shit.
>>51973978
> Assrock
God can't even save you now, Anon.
>>51973978
Heheh
>>51973372
i have a $59 motherboard running a 125w amd cpu and crossfire gpus for over 3 years no problems. Also using a no name psu
Every fucking product has a failure rate
What the fuck
Are people on /g/ really this retarded, to not realize that every product in the history of man is going to have some bad batches?

which mobo then?
>>51974365
Asus or Gigabyte
>>51974379
>gigabyte
fuck no
Asus or MSI
>>51974383
Msi.... Hahahahahahaha
>>51974365
Are you going to overclock? get a Gigabyte, MSI or ASUS Z97 Motherboard.
Cheap motherboard? Gigabyte B85M.
Which CPU are you getting?
>>51974386
MSI makes good budget Z97 motherboards (MSI Z97 Mate).
Shit for overclocking but they work.
ASUS makes good motherboards but tricky warranty.
Gigabyte is more like for budget motherboards but the GA-Z97X-UD3H and UD5H are solid motherboards.
I'm still using a P67 board paired with my i5-2500k running at 4.2GHz for 5 years now
>all these anons suggesting memebite
Enjoy your died motherboard
>>51974387
i5 4690k and yes i want to try some light overclock in the future
>>51974412
>Shit for overclocking but they work
Can confirm, my z87 g41 pcmate can only push my g3258 to 4.3GHz because of the motherboard only being able to push a max of 1.3V
>>51974806
Huge overclock get the UD5H.
Slight overclocking UD3H.
>>51974829
ok thank you
what about the Gaming 5?
>>51974879
MSI Gaming 5 is a good motherboard for overclocking but its not great for its price.
Its pretty much a expensive, but good looking UD3H.
>>51973372
Because they have a 10 layer PCB.
Mind you I have had no real problems with any of them.
