Ask me whatever you'd like about the device. I'm pretty sure that I'm returning it.

It's the i5, 128GB, 4GB RAM configuration with the new keyboard.

Also, how much foot porn do you watch per day?

Well I think the first question has to be; why are you returning it?

Many of my engineering friends recommended it but now that I actually got the time with it at home, I realize that I can't see myself really using it on a daily basis and would rather have a laptop. The kickstand design is really not that intuitive. If you have a laptop, you just open the lid and that's it. With this thing, you open from the top, hold it up, and pull out that kickstand which takes a few seconds, and if you have the pen attached like I do in the picture, you basically can't pull the kickstand out from that side because the pen is in the way of the tab on that side. The stylus is also really not that realistic. It's still laggy and doesn't feel nearly as fluid/natural/responsive as actual pencil and paper.

It seems a bit too gimmicky, basically. If you want my opinion, spend the $1100 I paid for this with the keyboard(using a student discount no less) on a nice laptop and pocket the rest. You can get a brand new Dell XPS 13 for a couple of hundred less. Don't waste your time buying this to try out only to return later etc etc... It sounds like a cool idea and everyone shills the shit out of it, but it's just not as intuitive as a laptop and the pen/digitizer is not nearly as great as everyone says. It's also just as heavy as a laptop that is the same screen size.

> if you have the pen attached like I do in the picture, you basically can't pull the kickstand out from that side because the pen is in the way

How retarded are you? It's your own damn fault for placing it there.

Also all of your problems are thinks you will have to get used to. No stylus feels like a pen on paper.
>>
>>51972879
This seems pretty legit.
Nice to see people actually giving constructive problems about it.
The vast majority of people act like its the best thing since the invention of the processor and other just say it's shit with no reasoning.

You say the screen and pen isn't worth the hype? How does it compare to other solutions?

The only other place to put it is on the other side in the same position, blocking a tab. Sure, you can just keep the pen in your pocket or a bag, but then what was the point of the magnet in the first place?

About the pen...

It is more comfortable to hold that I thought it'd be, but it doesn't help much. The right-click on the side is very awkward to push. The "eraser" on the other end is very strange and slippery on the screen. The actual pen tip pushes in when you write with it, which makes no sense to me and ruins the entire experience. Obviously it's to make it quieter or something, but it doesn't feel like a pencil/pen. It feels like a stylus, and that just ruins it. The pressure sensitivity is very hit or miss as well and I don't even see it to be anything useful unless you are specifically an artist, and even then I'd probably look elsewhere as it is not very mind-blowing.

>>51972996
I haven't tried much else. For all I know, this is the best solution for people that want a full computer with a digitizer all in a tablet. It's just not comfortable to use and the fact that you can buy a nice Pentel mechanical pencil that will last you 30 years for $2 and a regular 200ct. notebook for $0.50 and it will feel much better than this device really makes you think why you're buying it in the first place. I just don't see the appeal after actually using it for myself, not an abused Best Buy test model or my friends for a minute, but my own device all by myself for whatever I'd like.

Does the pen work as a prostatic massager or should I stick with the good ole rotring?

I might as well mention the keyboard attachment...

I think that the keyboard is actually fairly good. The track-pad is very satisfactory, a sort of "glass", and pressing to click is shallow and works well. Two finger scrolling and pinch zoom all work as well as any other top of the line laptop track-pad and I think that they did a good job. It's effortless, and the key placement is good. It is fairly weak feeling, though. You can easily bend it and it makes a very plastic-y hollow thump when you pull it away from the tablet to hit the table when you're setting it up. None of this matters if you don't like the device it is attached to, though.

Any decent laptop will have a better keyboard than this. Fuck, I even tried that silly Star Wars HP gaming laptop thing while I was waiting for stuff and the keyboard on that was better than this.
>>
>>51972639
Well if you wanted better quality you should have tried the Surface Book. The Pros are basically glorified tablets trying to pose as laptops.
The Books are the other way around, ie laptops trying to shape-shift into tablets.
>>
>>51973309
$1500 will get you a laptop that is way, way more impressive than the SB.
>>
>>51973366
Yea, but it won't be a 2 in 1. I'm not sure but did OP mention he needed touchscreen or not?
>>
>>51973429
literally no point to the SB as a 2-in-1 being that the battery life is literally 3 hours

The SB is basically both tablet and laptop with separate batteries and GPUs.
If you disconnect the screen it runs on its own battery and GPU and you can use it as a tablet, if you fold the keyboard back you can use both GPUs on the tablet so you have incredible rendering power for a tablet.
>>
>>51973501
it's a 3.3lb tablet, you're not going to use it as a portable tablet.
>>
What were you expecting from the SP4, OP? I have the SP3 and I've loved every minute of it. Want to get the SP4 when I've saved up enough to get one. I think it appeals more to people who want laptop internals and a real OS in a tablet form factor.I don't know how this compares to other 2-in-1s but I've been very satisfied so far. Only downside is the lackluster GPU performance but that's to be expected. I'm hopeful that there'll be an eGPU for the machine shortly down the line.
>>
>>51973366
If it's not a surface, $1500 will get you a laptop with zero stylus capability on the screen, have fun being limited to mouse/clit-nub/fingerpaint for drawing instead of being able to actually write or draw.

Retards are actually surprised that you can pay less if you go for a product with half as many features.

Now do a full comparison, you can pay $1000+ for an inferior drawing device and have 500 left over to get a complete joke of a laptop, or get them integrated together at lower cost and without having to carry multiple pieces of hardware and wires around.

Yeah this make sense OP. After seeing all of the Microsoft ads for the Surface and Surface book it basically inspired me to get something with a stylus. Everything else out there was way too expensive for me honestly especially the surface line. After doing a lot of research I ended up with some of Lenovo's offerings and I wanted something that was decent and upgradable. So I started looking at the Yoga lines which does come with a stylus however they were also too expensive. At the end of the day I ended up looking at the x230t. It is fucking heavy for a tablet of its size however it is upgradable. So far I am pretty happy with it. I have Windows 10 running on it with 8 GB of RAM and a 128 GB SSD. I am going to be installing a mSATA ssd on it soon and dual booting linux to use this thing as a torrenting box. Anyways I'm sorry the surface didn't work out for you and all of your complaints made total sense to me. The Yoga series might not be a bad idea for you considering if you need the stylus for anything. I'm an engineering/IT student so a ton of math is needed. The stylus comes in handy for that.
>>
>>51972719
Very bad. I finally got most if it running on an sp3.

>>
>>51974824
How would a stylus and a tablet help with math? I find it much faster to do that with pen and paper and use the surface for diagrams.
>>
>>51974866
you could easily have said macbook air 13 instead as it would have also applied.
>>
>>51974884
I use it to take notes in OneNote and then I can search and index the notes to look back on them later. yes pen and paper is much faster but being able to search for stuff with a 3-4 hour long lecture a few times a week helps tons when you're studying for finals or doing homework. I'm not saying this is the right way to do it but just the best way that works for me.

Surface 4 keyboard is advertised as "laptop class" now.

I have been trying to justify wanting a Surface 4 myself but I can't do it. Any help with reasons to get it? I currently have a XPS 15 from 2011 and its too bulky to carry around, cheap laptops have shitty screens that I can't believe exist in 2015. I think it's kinda cool looking but how can I justify buying one?
>>
Does it have a slot for regular SD-card?

I wouldn't get one, seeing as it would have to compare with a Dell Precision 5510 laptop in the same price range for CAD purposes.
>i7
>4K
>16GB RAM
>Quadro graphics

I'd take the laptop any day, seeing as the Surface would run the same price with accessories.
>dock
>screen protection keyboard flap

The only thing the Surface has that the Precision doesn't have seems to be the option for built-in 4G connectivity.

But I always carry my phone with me, so I can just make it act as a wifi hotspot.
>>
>>51973079
You know you can just place the pen holder on the keyboard like everyone else does it

and all of your reasons are bullshit. You compare pen and paper with stylus and tablet.

Did you really expect that it would perform BETTER than actual paper? are you retarded?

You obviously own one, or else you wouldn't shill something so stupid. Explain the point of the magnet or stop being a shill and realize it was a retarded design decision. Also, you can compare to paper and pencil as much as you want because that's the point of the product you fucking nog. get the fuck out microcuck
