is there any decent mechanical keyboard with 5 or more macro keys and volume and media keys that does not look like it was made for 14 year olds?

I legit use the macro keys on my 2013 razer Black widow (inb4) but I want to have something more decent and get rid of the horrific piece of shit that is razer synapse (the software to control the keyboard which is essentially worse than hitler).

The only thing I can find is the G710+ which is also "gaming" oriented but at least doesn't look as trashy as the G910 or frankly my current blackwidow.

But the Amazon reviews are terrible, half of the people say the keycaps are falling apart after a year, soooo...

Believe me bro, this was something that prevented me at first from ultimately buying them. But because the keycaps that come with the keyboard are so good to begin with it is somewhat easier not to upgrade. Also, you could get the CM topre clone keyboard, or use the stems from those switches to put in a legit topre. Up to you b0ss
>>
>>51973168
I was thinking about the topre Leopold FC660 on mechanicalkeyboards.com that come with the dye sub PBT caps, so i'm sure i'd be real happy with them. just a minor hang-up is all.

I like the older ADB keyboards I posted. I use one daily (the 0330) for development/coding/etc. it's missing pgup, pgdn, etc -- but I use keyboard maestro and I just map option+command+... to whatever I need.

using a windows/PC keyboard on a mac is confusing because the apple/command key technically isn't in the same place or same size as the "windows" or alt key.

you can easily convert them to USB with a Teensy and they have Alps switches. IMO best affordable mechanical keyboard for a mac.

the newer ones that came later with membrane switches and standard keyboard layouts are kind of pointless... but at least they're better than the even later USB keyboards (especially the glued-together silver one above) which are overpriced garbage.

The book takes place in late 1986 / early 1987.. this means the IBM 6150 or the Apple Macintosh Plus if you want the most popular widely-available PC options.

To say Bateman would use Apple "to fit in" is showing how little you know about the history of PCs and American Psycho.

Apple was not "popular" (and still isn't) and Bateman wasn't one to buy something just because it was expensive.

My theory?

He would not own a computer, but he would tell everyone that he does, and it would be whatever he thinks would most impress the person he was talking to at the moment.

Now if you excuse me, I have to return some video tapes.

I am not the butthurt guy you are responding to, but $200 (or $250 if you don't live in Japan) is like barely past beginner pricing for a keyboard.

200$ a bottle wine is better than 5$ a bottle wine.

Is it 40 times better?
that is not always the case, but the important thing is that to people who can afford 200$ wine, 200$ is little more than 5$.

If you talk about neets saving for months to purchase a keyboard, yeah they're mental.
>>
>>51978631
Reds with thick o-rings are theoretically superior if you're a tryhard competitive gaymer, but I imagine they'd be shit to type on.

Is there any place online that you can either purchase or place an order for custom printed keycaps? I'm looking for keycaps with shortcut labels for premiere pro.

And as an additional question, is there something like a separate, programmable macro keyboard with mechanical switches? I could use some additional shortcut buttons but can't seriously be arsed to buy a keyboard with extra macros since I probably could just buy the macro KB separately, no?
>>

Hey guys, this thread seemed initially useful seeing as I will buy a mechanical keyboard today.

However there's fuck all reasoning or justification to it, just a list of expensive shit made by people I've never heard of.

If anyone wants to make my life easier advise on the following,

-Best mech keyboard under £50

-Best mech keyboard under £100

-Best mech keyboard at any price.

I think my Leopold 660m started to die. Most keys in the bottom row (z,x,c,m,.,/,both shifts) as well as the key for t stop working every now and then.

Anyone of you ever encountered a similar problem with their 660m and knows how to fix it or is the keyboard simply broken?

it's more expensive than a TKL realforce and about on par with the hhkb.

the only cheaper boards are the novatouch, the type heaven and the kludge, all inferior products.

I've been using an Ergo Dox for over two years now. I wanted something with non staggered keys that was more portable for travel/work.

I chose the steel case mainly for durability, but also because I like things with an industrial look.

Also like that the PCB is supposed to be fully programmable. I've figured out a key layout that only uses two "layers" yet has everything on a full size keyboard. Most of the time I see people using layers they have a bunch of extraneous layers, so I want to test/demonstrate an alternative.
>>
>>51985021

order it from the states if you want it that badly. I did that for my white shine 4 with mx clears, could have gotten it in black for around 190$ CAD probably but ended up paying almost 300$ because of shipping, customs clearance and really shitty currency values here. But damn it looks good.

If they work in bios then you shouldn't have any issues. Problems normally are limited to bluetooth/wifi boards or if you made your own firmware for one.
