Get about 3mbps up usually. When we paid for 3 we got less than 1.

About $120USD a month. Extremely shitty. No other ISP comes to our house. Charter delivers about 2 miles away though. And this is as good as it gets for us, but if we want we can pay $160 a month for 10mbps down and 2 up.

I'm on YouSee, been pretty good so far, I'd rate them 7/10.

I used to have 100/20 mbit from them, what I actually got was 118/30 mbit. A few days ago I upgraded to 300/60 and now I'm getting around 170-200/60 (pic related), so I called them up and it turns out that my old modem is bottlenecking the connection due to simply being unable to pull 300 mbit down.
So they'll be sending a newer modem to me that is able to manage the higher speeds.

Pros:
>Good customer support
>Has a guaranteed speed policy
>Delivers speeds as advertised, unless there's something wrong with your equipment in which case support happily helps you further than "reboot your modem/router" in order to make sure you get the advertised speeds
>No bandwidth caps whatsoever
>All ports are open on the ISP's side, you're free to do/host whatever you want
>COAX is miles better than VDSL

Cons:
>Kind of expensive, especially compared to fiber ISPs
>COAX is still not fiber
>They won't sell an internet connection without a TV subscription (for now, this is supposedly changing in 2016Q1), adding to the already somewhat high price

UPC (Chello previously)
-Down: 60 mbps
-Up: 6 mbps
-20$ or 19 euros for a month (in a TV, Internet, Phone bundle)

They provide generally stable and fast connection (60/6 all the time). I live in the suburbs, that's why we choose them (basically if you want to have a good internet connection, you can only choose them, others are shit or out of support range). I didn't have any kind of issues with them over the 8 years. There were only 2 or 3 major outages, but nothing special.

My only negative experience with them was the following: we forgot to pay 1 month (we lost the bill), but payed the other months. After 3 months, they've just disabled everything without a warning (no phone call, sms, email, etc). We went in, and after 10 minutes, the support guy told us that what's up. After this, we've payed the bill, and he stated, that we also need to pay the re-connection fee, which was 15$(!). That was the point where we almost cut our contract with them. We've stated that if this happens again, we'll disband our contract with them. So we payed everything, and no issues happened since then (they're sending SMS and email if there's a problem now, so this isn't happening anymore).

Aside from this, they have my general trust. Oh by the way, I use the standard modem they've provided us (which is a Cisco EPC 3208), not the horrible all-in-one device they wanted to give us (some UBEE shietty device).
>>

Oh and to add, residential customers are allowed to go to a business class internet solution where you basically can haggle the price and speed you want.

When I lived with roommates in college, we had a business class internet speed of 80/10 for something like 120 USD per month. This is a good example, because the price you pay is never on par with what residential customer accounts pay for their "tiers". So it's POSSIBLE to get a faster connection if you want to fork over the cash for it. Secondly, business class accounts always come with some sort of term agreement usually 12-24 months.

The only PROBLEM is, once your term is up if you'd like to go back to residential, you CAN. It's just a huge pain in the ass because only certain customer service agents have access to both account types to change them between one or the other, and you'll likely have to return the equipment and exchange it because the equipment we give to business class customers is designed to allow them multiple networks, VPN configurations, hotspots and the like.

No you get UP to 60 megabits per second. That is roughly 7 megaBYTES per second, which is why your downloads probably feel like a tenth.

There is a conversion from Megabits to bytes you need to use to see your actual speed.

My google fiber connection is gigabit speeds, or 125 megabytes per second speeds
>>
>>51966699
Sounds like DSL, the maximum speed depends on the condition and length of the wiring between the DSLAM and your modem.
